Sunday Evening. San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplug...4.5x40. Trying to smoke the last couple of these well aged gems from Don Pepin Garcia infrequently.
When gone there'll never be any more, and that'sreally a sad thing. This evening without rain called for something fine, so the Del Sol.

On an related, in a way note.Smokin' Monkey sez he detected Cigar Smoke at the "Fortune Buffet" in Toms River last Wednesday Evening. Claims once he easily identified the Cigarbum ...must surely have been one of the Guido Squad members...that fellow had not a single cigar with him. Smokin'Monkey was naturally very disappointed. Dosen'tunderstand how one of Ciro's buddies could be without a few smokes.Was hearbreking to see Smokin Monkey so down in the dumps. Seven cigars later he was Smilin' again. Sure hope he dodn't trick me out of those smokes. Hate to think that Droy has corrupted S.M.

No xo, xo, xo's for the XO. Lots of transitions. None of 'em very good. First started out very light like smokin' a bread stick, then was ok, then tasted "green" yet it was 4 yrs. old, then ok. Have one more left so we'll see how that goes.

Also have some Domaines which was a smoke I once really enjoyed. The one I had recently, not so much. But that was in extreme winter cold, so I am still hopeful for the next.

Wednesday Night smoke. Crux Ninfamaniac Natural...7x33. Just fired this one up, about to shuffle off to front porch and enjoy it along with the night. Like the Natural a bit more than the dark, tho both are excellent just so longs as you remember to smoke them slowly to avoid overheating.

Very early on Saturday. Crux Ninfamaniac Natural...7x33. End of the night smoke, bit too tight draw at first tho once warmed,opened up. Smoke volume may not be impressive, but these are slim things, quite unlike the telephone pole size cigars favoured by a certain turban wearing organizer of steamy smoky nights of orgasmic delight

This afternoon I sucked all available smoke out of an LADC Mi Amor Churchill.

I bought a sampler of these a while back that contained a couple of several different vitolas. However the first of these Churchills whipped my arse with nicotine and made me its bitch. Needless to say, I was loath to unleash the fury of the second one upon my unsuspecting constitution. However, today I was looking for a nice long smoke so I shucked off the amber colored cellophane and nibbled a hole in the cap like an unsuspecting rat about to be poisoned.

It was 89° in the Union today. I smoked this cigar while sitting in an inner tube, with my dog, in a river, tied off to some snagged flotsam, beneath a bridge, during a thunderstorm.

It was wonderful.

Not only did the LADC MI stay rich and chocolaty to the very end, it also did a noble job of keeping the mosquitoes and black flies at bay. To accompany the cigar, and to prevent dehydration, I selected a Rochester Mills, Milkshake Stout, and also a Saugatuck Brewing, Bonfire Brown Ale. Both paired well as I knew they would since I like stouts with cigars in general.

Toward the end, the stick decided it would rather tunnel than burn. However, a couple good purges persuaded the wrapper to ignite once again . Here's the interesting part; the purge had an oily, creosote-like smell that brought me back to the railroad yards we used to play in (occasionally - it wasn't legal) when we were kids. I purged it several more times just to get that smell, determined to burn this thing till it went out of its own accord. In the end it did... at about 1/2" long. I'd say I nubbed it.

This was a most enjoyable smoke. I'm going to have to look for a box of these. Maybe not Churchills, but I understand they offer a lancero...

Check out the Magnifico size. My favorite in the line. They also do awesome with age.

Sunday smoke. San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplug...4.5x50. Smoked on front porch while watching the rain. Excellent smoke great retrohale sharp burn line lots of smoke solid longish ash. So good.

Smoked a Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve on the river today. Not sure of the vitola; toro or Churchill, some box pressed something or other ~ 50 to 54 ring x 6 1/2 long

Flavor wasn't bad but this cigar had all the construction of a dog rocket; I was sitting in an inner tube but the cigar was my canoe. I should have brought a paddle. Touched it up a couple times but each time the canoe returned. Won't be looking for a box of these any time soon... not sure they're still in production anyhoo.

Padron 2000 is and will forever be one of my favorite smokes. I bought these off of someone when they had a year of rest. These now have at least two years rest. Still nice and strong and taste like a chocolate bar. Happy Memorial Day, bums.

We'll, Brimy, I know you were interested in knowing about this one. And though I've now only had one each of those two (and do have one more JC to try), I would say, Yes, way better. As my journal note on the JC I tried reads, maybe 3 yrs. was too much rest and it went past it's prime? But it still would have to go a long way to beat the BD. It has a long finish and I'm still tasting steak sauce, "A1" too, my favorite, lol, and I like that flavor on occasion in a cigar. Very strong in this one so some may not. Will be interested to hear your opinion when you get your hands on one.

We'll, Brimy, I know you were interested in knowing about this one. And though I've now only had one each of those two (and do have one more JC to try), I would say, Yes, way better. As my journal note on the JC I tried reads, maybe 3 yrs. was too much rest and it went past it's prime? But it still would have to go a long way to beat the BD. It has a long finish and I'm still tasting steak sauce, "A1" too, my favorite, lol, and I like that flavor on occasion in a cigar. Very strong in this one so some may not. Will be interested to hear your opinion when you get your hands on one.Just got pushed back to the top of my to try list.

Got up early Friday and visited six gravesites of friends and family while I fuc*ed up a box of Kleenex and then took dad and my wrinkled caboose to the farm for a quiet weekend away from the masses. Man, it was hotter than a ho's azz on dollar day. We killed over 40 bottles of water, but got a lot done. I got 2 1/2 days on the John Deere with the brush hog then helped dad get some windows in his new gun house which is an old railroad switch house. Anyhow, today I just wanted a mild smoke so I grabbed a Mac Hyde Park....

Agreed. I also wasn't a huge fan of the Romeo y Julieta collaboration so I was wary of the Hoya

I haven't tried that one - not a huge fan of Romeo to start with. I do have a couple of the Monte collaboration sitting that I'll fire up one of the days on the golf course. Shop manager gave them to me so I really should try them.

By the way - helluva weekend line up there ! The Fausto is about the only Tat I'm not stocking or wild about but I wouldn't turn down any of those other sticks. TreySC sent me one of those Casa Fernandez Aganorsa and it was fantastic. (Speaking of which you can add that one to the list for our upcoming trade TreySC :wave: )

I think the wife is plotting for us to come down to see the kids in West Palm in the fall. I see it's a mere 3 hours or so to Cigar City so I may have to lobby for a day trip. I would love to wander Ybor for a couple hours and soak it all in. Maybe I can drop them at some park or the beach...... heh heh

For the record, I didn't detect much shift in this cigar. Pretty much a one dimensional smoke, but a nice medium bodied smoke. I don't know how old this cigar was as I got it through the Xmas smoke swap thingy....

They're pretty even, tho I like the Natural a bit more. Both really require one to smoke slowly, inexpensive so good value at their price.
