My favorite band ever. It's also a tasty cigar. Having uneven burn issues with this one, which is strange for these.

Having a nice Gurkha Boneless Chicken or Walking Pneumonia or Tender Cruelty, OK, I admit I don't remember what it is. Threw the band away a while ago. Anyway it's good! I don't normally smoke Gurkhas, as there are too many blends to pick from and those that are halfway decent tend to be overpriced. A co-worker gave it to me along with a Montecristo with a white band in exchange for a couple of Brohibas. I got the better deal :)

Lol! With the amount they do, very possible Gurkha does have all three of the "labels" you mention. Or if not, then you just may have named the first three releases of your Brohiba line!! :woohoo:

Love the Julius Ceaser & Maximus.Flavors where good and in line with most good maduros, but I would highly recommend a punch cut. I used the perfect cutter and it was so loose I struggled to get a decent draw that wouldn't overheat the cherry.

Thursday Afternoon cigar. San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplug...4.5x50. Want to reserve the Fireplugs I've left to be smoked over time since ther're no more of these cigar made.
Have only four other NC's, Vegas Cubanas, left to burn. Placed an order this morning for inexspense NCs to fill the expected gap until I'm able to snag some more VCs.
Too wet outside, too cool on porch so along side some good hot Coffee this one was smoked indoors.

Smoking Monkey claims that the images used as background for the cigar smoked, are how the Cigarbums that'll be attending the Cigarfest & Orgy really look ,and it's not a lot like the Avators they use when posting here.
S. M. promises to send me a cigar for each Bum I can name correctly, I'm fairly sure of 7 or 8 need to think about some others now,SM's only allows me until Noon Saturday to make my picks. [ He's watching for an USPS delivery to come in for David, then once He's taken his 60/40 split the rest will go into Droy's Humidor for the time being ]

Do hope Droy appreciates all the cigar orders that Smokin Monkey places for Him.

Had my first Oliva Connecticut Reserve Toro
Really like their Serie G maduro line and V Melanios, so this was an interesting change. I think that some rest will be helpful (and have been told as much also), but there was still a pleasant creaminess throughout this smoke. Also a bit on the mild/med side, but nice draw and burn after it warmed up.

Super Ligero Lancero to end the night. This is the first I've smoked out of the box I bought for absurdly cheap ($40!) on CBid about two months ago. It's good. Another 6 months will make it great.

There's something about those Mi Amor that really pops with age. They are pretty good ROTT but with some time they are great.

How did you like it TJ? The guys who make those have a lounge, over by me, in Brick NJ called Legends. I had one of their first production runs and it was OK, but nothing I would run out and get. Haven't tried any of their newer sticks.

Thursday Afternoon cigar. San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplug...4.5x50. Want to reserve the Fireplugs I've left to be smoked over time since ther're no more of these cigar made.
Have only four other NC's, Vegas Cubanas, left to burn. Placed an order this morning for inexspense NCs to fill the expected gap until I'm able to snag some more VCs.
Too wet outside, too cool on porch so along side some good hot Coffee this one was smoked indoors.

Smoking Monkey claims that the images used as background for the cigar smoked, are how the Cigarbums that'll be attending the Cigarfest & Orgy really look ,and it's not a lot like the Avators they use when posting here.
S. M. promises to send me a cigar for each Bum I can name correctly, I'm fairly sure of 7 or 8 need to think about some others now,SM's only allows me until Noon Saturday to make my picks. [ He's watching for an USPS delivery to come in for David, then once He's taken his 60/40 split the rest will go into Droy's Humidor for the time being ]

Do hope Droy appreciates all the cigar orders that Smokin Monkey places for Him.

Neya Classic for me today. I've let these rest awhile. They're really amazing for the price point. Spicy at first, lots of sweet cedar and dried fruit. On par with the F8 they make, but cheaper.

If you haven't tried the Sn Cristobal Guajiro Panatela/Lonsdale, you're in for a treat, at 6.6x46 it's a bit longer smoke and one where the flavours really get to shine.

The very last one of the five boxes I've smoked since Don Pepin Garcia's reviving this brand. Sometime soon hope to get some moreof these but right now completely out of NC's other than a few San Cristobals that I've set aside for special days.

With all the lines/brands coming from My Father Cigars it's hard to pick just a few favourites.
Thought I'd smoked my last Vegas Cubanas, but one left in the Humidaor. Well no longer.
The only Non Cuban cigars I have are a few of the San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplugs, that I don't plan on burning anytime soon.
Only two LGC Havanas, and saving those for a ahile longer.
Which left me without a single cigar after smoking that last Vegas Cubanas yesterday.
But a box that I had on order came in faster than expected so I'm ok for now on Islanders.
Just have order some smokes from that Garcia fellow.

Liked the original line a lot,they were first made by DPG I smoked.
So far as I can tell the new ones, which now have the My Father Cigars on the label and box, are the same blend.
Started smoking the from the first box on 08 September.
Just finished my fifth box.....a little too soon to be certain.
Definately have to smoke more to be 100% sure, but inclined to say,yes I do like them.

Doing yard word today, the first opportunity to do so this year, the sustained winter having finally broken. Did some raking in the rock garden and am now vacuuming the yard. To the casual observer it would appear like mowing, but since the grass hasn't yet started growing in earnest except in patches, I'm really just sucking up the detritus of a long winter and a couple of prodigious windstorms.

And of course this work was accompanied by the quintessential yard-gar, a 5 Vegas classic, a torpedo, the butt of which I tossed into the chlamydia shrub :)

Lol. Very true. I recently smoked one of a pair (different brand) I purchased and hoarded since back in '96, which the longer I waited, the more I couldn't bring myself to smoke. Well, the outcome was it was fairly flat and one dimensional but I could tell it was probably quite something in it's prime...long ago. Live and learn.

Well..

I was impressed it did start off with a bit of spice, but wasn't as grassy as a normal candela. Also had a nice creaminess that kind or lingered in the background through the smoke. I enjoyed it, if the shop still has some next time I'm in I'll probably grab another, let it sit for a while and try again.

Last night was a meh Friday. Started with a RyJ that I had to toss as soon as the guy that gave it to me left, due to it catching fire. Proceeded in trying to salvage the night with an oliva, which I had to put down 10min in due to un announced guests. Love those by the way. Re-lighted 2 more times and took me about 3 hours to finish that robusto. Finally decided to open a new box of La Joya 45 only to find most of them had old foot mold.
