Had a couple of Romeo and Juliet minis on the way home from the slug hatchery today :) A co-worker gave me a tin of them. The flavor's not bad, but it's not altogether satisfying to smoke a mini. I think the CNS is expecting a certain amount of vitamin N and tobacco goodness, and the mini just doesn't deliver. I think I'll go out on the deck and see how many I can smoke (in series, not parallel).

Return of a favourite Cigar. Vegas Cubanas Corona ~ By: My Father...5.5x44. Been hoping Don Pepin Garcia would some day bring the Vegas Cubanas brand back.
At long last He's done so.Got a box in and it had to be ROTT time for me. Vegas Cubanas were my top favourite and the first DPG cigars I'd smoked.
Guess it was almost fifty minutes after the box arrived in the mail when I cut and lit the first one
Don't usually do notes, but here's some.
Easy light...but a lot,whole lot harsher or stronger taste than the Vegas Cubanas I liked so much.
After about a half
inch the bitter taste faded away. Think the cigar's foot is too wet.
Smoking along,about an inch and a half into the cigar it is a whole lot better smoke.
But not as fine as I'd expected. Burn line fairly sharp, goodly amount of smoke.
Retrohale pretty rough...now hope that these will improve after a few more days in the Humidor.

Buyrn time: One Hour and Thirty Five Minutes.

Early Wednesday Morning Smoke. Vegas Cubanas Corona ~ by My Fahter Cigars....5.5x44.
Second one from the box. Seems the short "rest" was what the cigar needed. Not as smooth as the "old" Vegas Cubanas I liked so much.
But...10% - 15% better, much less harsh that the first one smoked. First quarter of an inch is the fullest,
maybe these were cellophaned too soon,too wet because deliveries to retailers were later than promised.
Notice that the Band is very tight, once band 's removed this area is smaller in diameter than the rest of the cigar's length body.
.Retrohale kind of harsh, now this's something that I do not like.
Still, just not going to give up on Don Pepin Garcia,yet.......more in the box to burn. Fingers crossed, hope still alive.

Round about Noon Today. Crowned Heads Jericho Hill12 Honest Men Limited Edition Lancero...7.5x38. This made "by My Father" Lancer after being cut , lit easily and right from the first puff the open draw produced a lot of smoke. Another couple of puffs and I'm thinking I should have snagged more maybe 2 or 3 more boxes. Half inch into and the retrohale is fine. The Dozen Deluded Dudes Lancero is one heck of a good smoking cigar for not a lot of money.

Well before Moonset. Vegas cubanas Corona...5.5x44. At last this fourth one smoked with no trace of the harsh /bitter taste.
Just plain good old Pepin Garcia quality.
Reckon the rest/drying out time in the humidor helped.
Never really doubted that these would 'come around' just a matter of time.
Still not getting much of the Pepin Pepper, but think the original series did not carry a lot of pepper either.

Late Thursday Afternoon cigar. Vegas Cubanas Corona...5.5x44. Definitely a Don Pepin Garcia blended beauty.
Very Cubanese, nice easy Medium smoke, sharp burn line, solid ash smooth retrohale, would not be hard to smoke two or three per day.
I'd been a bit worried that this new iteration of the Vegas Cubana line would prove to be too unlike the original.
More fool I to've ever doubted Pepin's mastery.
This box (Box code: 24 MAYO 2017) wont last long.
and I'm glad I have another, of more recent date still in the cello.
May have forgotten to mention that I am happy to see the Vegas Cubanas back.

Friday - Saturday Smoke. Special S Robusto by My Father Cigars...5x50. Didn't take two days to smoke,cut and lit before Midnight Friday but smoked into the new day, Saturday. Another fine one from Don Pepin Garcia's magic factory. Nice even burn, goodly amount of smoke, fairly solid ash, nice retrohale, all in all a nice cigar to relax with.

Yes, that's Sawyer. He was a rescue that we got at 9 weeks after losing our dog Scooter at 12 years old 2 months earlier. We know he is 1/2 Golden Retriever because the shelter had his mom. The curly tail part is unknown, but the vet says Schipperke.

Late Friday Morning. Vegas Cubanas Corona...5.5x44. Smoked on front porch, despite Humidity being somewhat too high this "perfect" Corona from Don Pepin Garcia burned just great. Really glad he brought this brand back. Not a powerhouse cigar, but then do you really like getting bowled over by a streetcar every time you venture outside? For me this is an ideal anytime smoke.

Well after three weeks of complaining I finally went to see a doctor about me back.
They gave me a shot and a bunch of pills so I can be swimmy headed.But it does
seem loads better,don't tell my wife. Enough so I fired up my pipe this morning and
