Last night a smoked an Acid Atom Maduro robusto that I have had for 8 years. It started off like a Swisher Sweet on steroids - very sweet, but kind of a licorice sweet without the licorice flavor. The sweetness was distracting and I couldn't get much tobacco flavor, but there was lots of body to the smoke. So I kept on puffing, thinking that it was just a sweet little wimpy cigar. Man, was I wrong! I had only smoked it down 2/3rds when I started reeling from the nicotine. I had to stay up another 45 minutes so I could recover before going to bed.

Well, once again, I wouldn't say it's my favourite cigar I've smoked. So far, I seem to have an affinity for maduros, so this is definitely very light-bodied, but from some of the reviews I read, I was expecting these to make me want to hurl.

Perfectly acceptable as a yard-gar, at least, to me, so far.

I do really like their Class Regent Robusto, the rest I'm not going to try anymore. Just not worth it, but those are a decent cigar to me....

I liked it a lot! Great draw and burn. Gotta say though it's one heck of a spice/pepper bomb, there's some leather underneath perhaps some longer rest will bring out all the profile. Definitely grab a couple if ya get the chance, one to try and another few to lay down for a bit!

Having half a Brohiba tonite.

Why only half? For some unknown reason, I rolled about half of that batch (#32) too tight, resulting in draw issues. So to mitigate, I cut the longer ones in half, which makes them at least smokeable. It's still a little tight, but the flavor's good anyway.

Never snagged one of the originals so no idea on a comparison. This was good, but I don't know that I'd classify it as fantastic. It was still pretty fresh so maybe after some time.......

Stuck my nose in one of my humidors to get one of my new ones and noticed a peculiar sweet aroma. It was an Acid cigar, out of its wrapper, ghosting up the humidor. Having half a Brohiba tonite.

Why only half? For some unknown reason, I rolled about half of that batch (#32) too tight, resulting in draw issues. So to mitigate, I cut the longer ones in half, which makes them at least smokeable. It's still a little tight, but the flavor's good anyway.

It's all about the flavor that we savor. Which reminds me that I have one of your home rolled gems stewing in the humi. It's about time to give it a whirl......

Stuck my nose in one of my humidors to get one of my new ones and noticed a peculiar sweet aroma. It was an Acid cigar, out of its wrapper, ghosting up the humidor. Funny! It's my fault for taking it out of its wrapper a couple of days ago and then putting it back in the humidor. All the other cigars in that little humidor are in their wrappers so maybe they didn't get tainted. Hope you have a good Saturday night!

Well, 0 for 2. This one at least had flavour I liked, but all kinds of issues. Went out often, even when smoking way faster than I usually do to try to keep it going, wrapper split under the band even though I waited as long as possible for the glue to heat up, other wrapper cracks elsewhere, semi-plugged...It's been in my humidor at 65% for almost 2 1/2 weeks, so it shouldn't be too humid.

I forced myself to nurse the Dominion yesterday, re-lighting it, using a draw tool to open it up, etc...This one this morning led me to a good conclusion: Life is too short to deal with a cigar that's making me work this much. We pay way too much for cigars in this country, so I now get why everyone I know gets them elsewhere than their B&M. This is supposed to be my meditation out in the yard with the fur-babies.

Out I chucked it at about the halfway point. I'll just smoke something better later on instead!

Still working on the first 3rd and so far it's awesome. Hell of a slow smoker though 5x60 bxp. Great burn and construction. Not a spice bomb, more mellow with coffee and a bit of a sweetness. Full bodied and I'm thinking gonna finish at full strength...waiting for the nic to show up. Definitely give it a shot. You'll not be disappointed!

Back to the Padron 3000 Maduro. Good to the last draw. Zero burn issues, never had to re-light it or touch it up once, and I really like the flavour. In my limited experience, these are box-worthy.

Tuesday D DAY June Sixth. A. Fuente Opus X Perfecxion No.5...4 7/8 x 40. The perfect selection on this well remembered, historic date.
As expected great construction with an extremely sharp burn line, very very flavourful and enjoyable l o n g burning cigar that I was able to smoke courtesy of my Secret Santa SeanTheEvans.
