Afternoon Pepin smoke. Flor de Las Antillas Robusto...5x50. Once again with some good hot coffee while reading. Like the box pressed form and with this large a cigar as expected there is a great deal of smoke.
Burn time was an hour and fifty minutes.

We just had a second Come to Jesus meeting with our realtor, so who knows if she will start actually doing her job now or not. We've run out of flyers twice and both times it has taken her a full week to get me more flyers and our offices are literally half a mile apart on the same road. She's horrible about returning calls and has done the absolute bare minimum to market the house. It's extraordinarily frustrating, but there are always worse problems in life to have so whatever. We are lucky that we don't have to move, but we want to move so if we have to wait for her contract to expire and hire a new realtor, so be it.

After mowing it was time for a smoke. I'm not sure if I somehow channeled allusred or if it was because I finally got my iPod (mostly) set up and I was like karaoke in the front yard, but this 'lil Point Fives Maduro lasted 50 mins on the dot.

I'd have to go back and check to know for sure, but this one has been sitting around 9 months I'd guess (+/- 1) and it sure seemed to have mellowed nicely. About how long does it take before it's noticeably smoother?

New Wednesday New Cigar. Flor De Seva No.15...5.5x54.
Nice light and smooth ( Conncticut Shade ) wrapper,Guillotine cut,easy light, no burn problems with this large ring gauge Belicoso.
Smoked this one within ten minutes of it's delivery today. May've missed some flavour shifts, just wanted to "see how the cigar smoked."
Would put it in the Mild to at most Mild /Medium range. Definitely quality tobacco in this well constructed cigar.

Smoking time was an hour and fifty four minutes.

David, that's a stick that I like just fine either way. The maduro has a deeper, almost meaty taste to it, the natural has a more defined spice note, I find. Both have a good deal of balanced power, with, to me, the edge going to the maduro

I just picked it up at a B&M yesterday so it had a little trouble staying lit. Flavors were enjoyable though I would imagine a few weeks in the humi or a bit of dry boxing would fix the burn issues

So I went deep down into the cooler today and found this. It has about 3 years on it and all I can say is wow. Rich and creamy with coffee and chocolate. Perfect draw and burn. I often hear that NC don't age well. This must be an exception. But honestly I'm starting to believe that that story is simply an old wives tale. Especially as I can remember that the original one I tried young tasted of hot dirt. It's not often that a NC yard gar delivers.

Saturday afternoon cigar. HR Sublimes...6.5x54. A nice day smoking this Hirohci Robiana cigar. May as well say, a Superb cigar since it is that.
Maybe the most complex blend, certainly the one with the smoothest subtle changes in my recall. Not one of those that hit you with a variety of potent changes.
This is simply one heck of a pleasure to smoke, quality all the way assuredly good value for the money.

About forty or so minutes into this. My Father El Centurion H-2K Corona...5.5x48. My all Hollows evening smoke.
Would've gone with a Murcielago, had I one of those left.

For some reason the Box Press style seems to suit these H-2K smokes better than it does some others.
Think this style lets the blend shine in a way the round shapes doesn't...the H-2K wrapper , may be one those just "made for" the shape.
(Or it's all due to this Rum & Coke>)

Sorry I have been absent lately. Golf has wound down and deer season has started. Between the fact that I try and stay scent free for bow season and the weather turning I smoke a lot less this time of year. Today it was 65 here, probably the last day over 60 for awhile. Wife is out of town so I am having this little guy while the kids eat and something really good after they go to bed...

Ligero is normally a bit darker - upper leaves, more sunlight, etc., but usually not that dark. That must be a maduro leaf wadded up in there. BTW, not to get too geeky here, but maduro is the result of extra fermenting time, and it could be done to leaves from anywhere on the tobacco stalk.

Last night gave me a little more faith in our country. I was so worried that someone of that (her) caliber would become our president. It reminded me of back in the seventies when I was losing hope in our country as we had a piss ass country that took American hostages and was rubbing it in our face. I'm not a war monger, but we are the strongest country in the world and we need to act like it. Drawing lines in the sand and then not backing it up makes us look weak and cheesy. Time to tape the balls back in our crotch and get on with it.......Errrrrrr.......Later on, I'll have the same cigar as you mate. Sorry for the ramble......
