Late Sunday Evening. Grimalkin Torpedo...6.5x52. One of the best of the 'no longer made' from don Pepin Garcia,not certain they get better with age, but they certainly don't lose at all. A line I wish I'd gotten more of while they were still available.
Burn time one hour and fifty three minutes.

Le Careme tonight watching football. Great cigar until the last third when it started oozing tar. It was ROTT so hopefully with a little r and r in my humi the rest of them will be better.

Courtesy of Cardinal, this Monday Afternoon. San Cristobal...6.625 x 46. Tim sent me this well aged,2007, beauty that I fired up this afternoon and enjoyed tremendously. Just after cutting I at last realized that I'd been thinking of this cigar as a Lancero, or rather a "Short Lancero' was indeed my number one all time favourite San Cristobal cigar from Don Pepin Garcia. One that I've not smoked in a long while. Not much sense in trying to explain just how good a well aged San Cristobal from Garcia can be, this is one of those times when you simply "Just gotta smoke one to understand." Have seen some ask if any non Cuban cigars can be expected to improve with age. Some do, some don't. You may like the "fresh" cigar or prefer one that has some resting/aging time. Burn time.....hell I don't know enjoyed smoking this one and plumb forgot to keep track of time.A big thank you to Tim (Cardinal) for giving me this chance to smoke this excellent well aged cigar.

Bingo. It's a small event billed as a tent party Sat night. There are going to be a few reps there though and the AJ rep who will be there gave me a heck of a deal on the first box I bought of those at a different shop & event back in the spring.
They are doing a cut the cards thing for an extra mystery discount in the shop and it's on native soil so no NYS taxes !
Dustin's right - probably not worth the drive unless you are bored and want to stock up, because prices are are good even without the extra discount.

Relaxing and savouring this aged Don Pepin Garcia cigar realized that this is flat out the best DPG/My Father smoke I've had.
Can think of only one other cigar that might've been as good tho no way of knowing how those would've aged.
Burn time was an hour and forty-six minutes.
Sure going to miss the Grimalkins.

Second the rest on Serie B. Smoked one young a couple months ago, and I got a hideous, like Mixture 79 hideous, floral note. Couple weeks ago, that nightmare had departed.

Arganese maduro churchill. Not great, but it was supposed to be a yard gar while I mowed the lawn today. Instead it ended up being smoked while I used the push mower and tinker with the rider to see why it won't run now. I'm about ready to pay a lawn service for the rest of this year. This mower has been a problem all year.

Late evening Sunday. La aroma De Cuba Edicion Especial...56x46. Gifted cigar that's reminded me of how much I do like these, put it on "the list"...might as well, but can't even start to work my way thru the modest number on there now, something else always comes along that's a get it now. Not sure of the burn time, think in the range of an hour and fifteen minutes. This corona size smoke along with two cups of hot coffee made for an enjoyable smoke despite the chill and damp on the porch...if it yhad been a Churchill would have come indoors to finish it.

Leson learned. When you find something in your wife's glovebox, DO NOT smoke it! She had a coupla those Acid cigarillos, the single ones, blue and red. Lit red, she lit blue. Monday Afternoon. Talavera Edicion Exclusiva 2015 Corona...5.6x46. A favourite size from a favourite blender,My father cigars. Trademark excellent construction and near razor sharp burn with no need to relight or touch up over it's one hour and fifty-one minutes. Well, it is a superb smoke from Don Pepin Garcia,knew I should've gotten more of these gems.

I was hoping this would be a good smoke. It started off very nice and after about 10 puffs, I was a bit disappointed. As you can see the burn was horrible and what look to be sticks that was causing the bad taste and burn issue. I was looking forward to this smoke as it was their newest line that I got in a golf tournament that Altadis Sponcered.
At $14-$16 for singles there are many others I'd get for half this price.

I've never been a huge RyJ fan honestly. This one was okay, but it was the Magnum size and I much prefer smaller ring gauges. The ash was super flaky, draw was a bit tight, but the flavor wasn't bad. Earthy with some notes of wheat and nuts.

Other than a wavy burn line at about the mid point,which was easily put right by a quick touch up.

I believe NeverBend said he had never been disappointed in this brand, whether CC or NC. This was my first. No wow factor, but a good solid smoke worth stocking. I'm glad I have a couple in reserve.

I bought a box of the Cosacos which is the 42 ring size ( as I usually favor the smaller size) and 10 of the Robustos (50 rg) from AndyCAYP before he retired.
The couple of smaller size I have had have tended to be on the tighter draw side while the robustos have been spot on perfect draw and burn and seem t provide so much more flavor so of those 2 yes most definitely the robusto. I haven't had he 48 or 52 sizes so I can't speak to those, but I'd be back bugging Andy for a box, maybe 2 of the robustos had he not retired..... I had the last box in my cart at Small Batch on a Crowned Heads day but they got bought out from under me while I was adding a few more items so now I'm holding for a deal because it seems most of the early shipments are gone and folks are waiting for the next round. Of course - someone in the great state of TN where Crowned Heads is based may have better luck.....

My latest completed batch (in the middle of a new one right now) has pretty good flavor but I've got issues with tight draw. So, basic physics, I cut the longer ones in half and that renders them at least smokeable.

The batch I'm working on today, I bunched and bound them much looselier (new word for y'all). We'll see how that goes.

Last one ever. Grimalkin Torpedo...6.5x52. Either tied for first or simply my all time favourite cigar from Don Pepin Garcia.
Smoked this last Grimalkin Torpedo on Monday Afternoon.
One of the most enjoyable smokes ever, even tho the front porch was a bit too cool today.
The cigar's burn time was two hours and four minutes.
