I don't know what it was, if it was just the setting or the right mood, maybe it was that I was trying to stretch it and taking my time to savor; but it was one of the better cigars I've had in a while. Notes of dark fruits; cherry, raisins in the middle. Very good!

I've been looking to get a few. I've seen that many b/sotl really like them.

So, to answer your original question Jeremy, I think it's a pretty good, uncomplicated mild cigar that would make a great everyday cigar if they just weren't so damn long!

Had a nice, wide Hc Connecticut on the way home from the stockyards. Needed it too - we live in a semi-rural area served by a random web of 2-lane roads, and there was a traffing-stopping accident a couple miles up at a critical bottleneck. Had to take the long way around, which added another hour of staring at brake lights, ugh.

Home now, ate dinner, vaping and bumming, all is cool.

With some Rum & Coke two hours and three minutes burn time from the Don Pepin Garcia cigar, flawless construction, great wrapper, sexy eyes on that band,easy light, sharp burn line, no need to relight or touch up if the numbers weren't so low, would be puffing away on another of the same right now.

I started the Oliva on the way home from work detail, set the partially-finished stick in the ashtray holder outside, had dinner, worked out, and forgot about it. Then I lit up a stick from a little cluster bomb from our friend jhedrick83, which shall not be identified here, but is named after a guy who founded a South American country. Then I noticed the Oliva so I lit that one up too.

How is that? I have one sitting that I have not tried.
I think they're really good. Not overly complex, but a profile I really like. Burns great and puts out allot of creamy smoke. My local B&M carries them and I always grab a couple when I stop.

Had an RP Catch 22 while turning money into smoke and noise at the (outdoor) range today. Son of Bruck is in town, and a hunting buddy and his daughter joined us - a good time was had by all, and the Catch 22 wasn't bad. It's (I believe) a newer RP, and on the cheap end so I was a little leery, but it was respectable. I'll have to try a couple more before it makes my list of good cheapies.

Lonely bedraggled smoke. La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial #1...5.6x46. This has been bouncing around in the humidor, sans cello for a heck of a long while, foot kind of ragged, once lit after about a quarter inch gone it smoked nicely, maybe a wee bit milder than remembered. Rainy night and the high humidity on front porch meant it was abandoned with about an inch and a half left. Until then was an enjoyable smoke.
Edit...or update, something like that.
This was one of the older series of this cigar, that is before Don Pepin Garcia changed the blend, and that must make it three or even more years old. Never age any cigars more than a few months at most, just realizing now that this one was in good shape and smoked very well indeed for an OAP.

In photobucket:
- click on the photo
- click on < with the dots on the points
- click on "copy link to clipboard"
- click on the img link
- paste in your post
