First cigar in probably a month yesterday, since I got more into pipes. Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne. Their good reputation is totally justified. Reallly flavorful but mild, good burn, very satisfying.

I've got a Camacho Triple Maduro with a piping hot cup of chocolate cherry coffee (yes, even though it's 90 degrees) this afternoon. What a great combo!

Was that one of the old band ones or the new ones? One of my favorites for sure.

Old band! I haven't had any of the new design bands yet. Do you notice a difference?

Enough that I know I like the older ones better. That could just be because at this point they come pre aged from the B&M. They are supposedly the same blend, so only time will tell with the new ones.

After a weekend at the farm in the John Deere in this heat, I'm just now starting to get back some of my basic body functions. I had no idea what is needed to coordinate lighting a cigar until now. A KFC Kyotos....

Enjoying a Padron 1926 maduro that Mrs. Cool Breeze got me for my birthday.

Here is the cigar, as well as Mrs. Cool Breeze. She is in focus rather than the cigar. Probably not a bad thing.

Stay smokey my friends. :stogie:

Had a couple of bourbons and a cigar with my dad yesterday afternoon.

We enjoyed LAdC Mi Amor's by the pool with drinks in hand. Forgot to take pics of the cigars, but I did remember the bourbon:

Started with a High West Bourye, and then moved on to a couple servings of Noah's Mill...

It was a great afternoon!

His Excellency Sir. Dog Rockets has sain,in no uncertain terms "Pix or it didn't happen."
But I'm certain HE will forgive the absence of photographic proof.
After all how can one be expected to take pictures and/or smoke cigars if they might have forgotten that Bourbon is the Water of Life ?

Knew I was missing something today...thanks for showing me what's needed to survive this cold spell.

Did have me wondering too.
Was thinking some evil doer had stolen that white glove and was trying to trick us into thinking that WNYTONY had begun smoking the 7x80 and 11x120 size cigars
implying that he couldn't cover that stretch of pock marked sand and sagebrush while puffing on smaller cigars.

Not certain about the 11x120 size...Once I saw the 60 rg... then 64... then 68rg cigars I figure it would not be long before we were presented with an 8 or 10 inch by 80rg, so figure some one would think, hell why don't were get the jump on the other and go right on to making a 10 or 11 inch x120 size.
Haven't seem them in production...yet.
But, I have smoked a couple that were 15x90.5 plus ring gauge.
Want to see pix?? Just let me know.

http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q571/alluspogo/gigantes_zpsefotoazm.jpg
The Oliva Serie V is a 6 inch by at least 60 ring gauge, as you can see plenty of room left for the 90 rng gauge cigar.
The HR Sublime is 6.5 inches by 54 ring gauge room for two and a half of these lain end to end.
Can't recall the burn time for the two Gigantes, but do know they were well made burned evenly , and yes they were good smokes enjoyed on the front porch on cooler nights than we've been getting of late.
Would I smoke these again, sure, just so long as the weather was a good bit nicer than it is right now.

PS: Would bet WNYTONY could get all the way 'round eighteen with one of these,so long as he didn't puff too quickly.

Video at eleven !!

Have smoked some of the La Imperiosa cigars, Corona Gordas all had good draw and smoked very nicely, expect the problem would lie in the degree of difficulty when rolling the Minuto size, tho really it is a size that one would expect not to be a problem. Blended and rolled by those used to the Cuban size smokes.Hopefully the one you smoked was that rare exception.

This, this is a Robusto. My Father #1 Robusto...5.2x52. I'm still making the adjustment to smoke the larger ring gauges in vogue now a days.Just the look and the weight in hand of this one reminds it'll need both time and attention, don't mean attention to how well it burns or to trying to keep the burn line even, heck no...this is a My Father cigar...Don Pepin Garcia...it would not dare to burn other than first rate, Let alone fail to be one fine smoke. Guess I should mention that I do kinda like Pepin's work.
Now having added some Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum all set to get on with my re read of "Little Star' Like Pepin Garcia Lindqvist is always a fine trip.

Yes it is always a damn fine smoke.
The one I've just smoked was exactly that, and by the way, I enjoyed it maybe just a little bit more because it was part of the prize" sent by Cardinal at the conclusion of the Coffee and Cigars pass. That was a fine and fun event , so thanks to Tim for both the cigar and the pass he put together both most enjoyable.

With a couple cups of hot coffee and time this was really nice relaxing experience, one that may well be repeated post sunset.

What is that Kevin?

Hey Brian, it's a Gregorio and he rolls out of the Nice Ash Warren shop in Buffalo.

About Gregorio's Cigar Rolling and how he learned the art of hand rolling cigars. (http://www.gregoriocigars.com/about-us.html)

Nice Ash Cigars & Lounge Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY, and Warren, PA (http://www.niceashnews.com/index.html)

Not sure if you can call the PA store out of the Warren and have them shipped because they sell online there? Maybe WNYTONY knows?

There must be a way. La Palina El Diario K B...4.25x40. Once again made the mistake of trying to smoke on porch during the heat of the day. Tricked by the diminutive size of the cigar. After less three quarters of an hour had to retreat to air con to finish this long burning cigar. An excellent cigar that I want more of.
Thanks Cardinal for sending these La Palinas my way, and for the fun time that was the Coffee & Cigars Pass.

Let me know how it ended. I had two when they were released, started well and quickly went to horrible burn and drawn problems. I have one left I haven't touched since November. As I've said before I do love the artwork.

It was ok.
1st 2 3rds were nice but got harsh in the last 3rd. Had to put it out.
The burn & draw were excellent!
I hope with a little more rest it will be a good smoke all the way thru.

Then I watered the drier sections of my grass and caught movement out of the corner of my eye. Aggressive little sucker who sure didn't care much for being caught and bit me like he was 6' and dangerous for a while but calmed down eventually:

Last night (more accurate:early this morning) smoked a Oliva O Robusto. That stick never blows my skirt up, but the construction and burn are always great.

A first for me:
With some rain the last few evenings and decently cool overnight temperatures, Thursday morning I open a humi and pull the hygrometer to put in some cigars. The hygrometer gained four points rh in the short time it took to take sticks out of a bag and put them in the humi. Living the dream in tropical SW Virginia.

Not sure what was going on with this cigar. I usually have no problems with any DPG. I have had this cigar since July of 2014; again haven't seen issues with these even with time. Tasted very mineral / metallic like. Grew a bit harsh at the end. On a positive; it burned flawlessly. Well it was my last of these, so guess I won't be able to try another to see if it is a trend.

Wrapper PA from KY (Larry the Tobacco Butcher)
Binder Dark Air from KY
Filler = Dominican Seco, Criollo Ligero (Nicaraguan), Havana from KY, and Nicaraguan Viso
Draw is a little tight, but otherwise the burn is good and the flavor is excellent - I'll have to make some more of these :) Uncle Nick definitely showed up with this one as well - the Dark Air and Nicaraguan leaves have some vitamin N.

It was pretty good but a little strong for my first of the day. I didn't get the play on the name, cojones, until I had lit up and started listening to podcast. I was wondering who the hell is C.O.Jones...

You can't beat a Padron 64 plus 3 cigars for $20...I think that Padron runs $15+ in Syracuse B&Ms. The other 3 are all decent smokes too...though I haven't tried the CLE yet.

I smoke my first Sobremesa Saturday and unfortunately I was at the beach on Ontario and the wind was whipping. It was a waste of a good cigar... I should have waited.

LOL - they either had the play on the name on the card or the show because I was thinking the same thing and was ready to smack myself when I heard that. Good to know to wait until later in the day with it. I have had the CLE before and I really liked it. Bought a fiver and smoked one and wanted to look for more - think you will be surprised with it.

Don't think Alan would be sending you any thang too scary to smoke.
Think the name of the band is one ah've seed afore, but kelour not th same like.

Other how looks like a good cigar, to me.
Smokin Monkey sez he had a skinny cigar one night, thinks it was a "Tarpon or Tampon."
He didn't like it, said it burned too harsh, was like a giant cigarette filter, sez he smoked it down to the last half inch before giving up cause the taste didn't improve at all, gave him a frightful headache it did.

Never mind that, Im certain Alan would not send you a scary cigar, skinny or otherwise.

Hate when that happens, even worse when it interrupts a cigar. We have a beagle that likes to run out the front door given the opportunity. We've gotten to the point if we don't catch him within about a 30 minutes we just wait and he comes home when he's done tracking whatever scent he was on.

The problem with letting him just come home, is that he is a moron. He is a 5lb chihuahua and he can slip through fences and gates and has a tendency to slip into the yards of people who have large dogs. In fact, when I found him, he was trying to get into the fenced in yard with three mastiffs who were NOT happy to see him.

It sounds like yours at least has some semblance of a survival instinct!

The 1st time it happened like that my wife was a mess. They got out around 2 one afternoon, we looked for hours. Finally decided to just see what happens. Around 9:30 or so that night I thought I heard his annoying bark, so I went out and called for him. Then he pops out form between the houses across the street like nothing was wrong with the little dog right behind him.

Unfortunately I only got to smoke about a third (kids flight landed early).
At first light it was pure tobacco taste! But after a few puffs the other flavors started to emerge. It seems like it will be a nice little cigar when I have an opportunity to smoke the whole thing.

It was a very good cigar but if it wasn't a part of a sampler, I wouldn't have bought it. I just can't afford to smoke $11 cigars when there are so many that are almost as good for a lot less.

So these are that good? I had someone tell me they were overrated, but then I was considering the smaller cigarillos.

I may just have to look at these samplers...

A second smoke for the day

http://i68.tinypic.com/2nv9fm8.jpg

What is going on here? I began smokin' sticks with them being the occasional thang, which became treats for me if I have to spend too much time outside, and now it's just almost too much to control myself here. Next thing you know I'll need a waking smoke with coffee, one after lunch, another after dinner, and one more prior to bedtime and that's on the days I don't mow or water the grass or otherwise want a smoke! Am I helpless?

Is there a 1-800 number for this? 1-800-NOSMOKE?

Funny as I had a friend who's BIL in the coast guards gave a few boxes of true Cohibas that I was honored to smoke, and SWMBO decided to act upon by giving me a few smokes from the local humidor, but has since become concerned about as I was a very heavy smoker prior (and at that time).

Years later I decided to take cigars back up despite her concerns it would reignite the addiction not realizing it wasn't such. Nah. It's an obsession that I greatly enjoy and look forward to when I can. Big difference.

Morning Tuesday cigar. Murcielago Churchill....7x48. Three cups of good hot coffee and it was time to light this one. Don't think don Pepin Garcia would have a non seller on his hands if he re-introduced these as a My Father cigar. Can't judge how much better they are with a few extra years of age, but they certainly smoke just fine. Burn time was one hour and fifty three minutes.
