My Father is good and all, but I really liked the Aganorsa made El Güegüense.
Part of it is just dropping the Güegüense name, but it sounds like it will be a different cigar.
Interesting: “Foundation no longer has anything made at Aganorsa Leaf”

A CP buy - how are those ?


I just bought them based on intrigue. So far I've had the liga 9, which smoked like an Ashton Maduro. Very mild and mineraly, no cocoa, earth or pepper like a liga.

This was closer to its namesake, but not quite ether. Although this had a lot of body and flavors come and go including earth, toasted wood and bread with a nice amount of pepper. Can't place this as another smoke I've ever had, but it reminds me of something. Maybe a RP, maybe CAO.

The important thing for me was cheap cigars with perfect construction to give away to muchers, and so far, these have delivered.

Thanks for the info.The Penn maduro are very hit and miss. More miss than hit in my experience. The first two I had came from a sampler and were freaking amazing! I mean crunchy anajo wrapper good, I was shocked to see such a high quality leaf being used. Then I bought a box, and although all the flavors were there, the construction sucked so hard. Very inconsistent draw from one to the next, and I had to throw out at least 3 for being complete wooden dowels.

I have been curious about some of those mostly the fuente versions but the cc ones may be worth a try. Any others you can recommend?So far they have all been OK to good, but non have standed out as something to specifically re-order. This one is. I'm not sure how, but this thing has truck loads of sourdough, yeasty, irony goodness (which is what I like to describe twang as). If I was given this blind, I would not belive it wasn't Cuban. I would not believe it was a Cohiba ether, but something I've never had before. I need to have another one to make sure my mouth didn't betray me because it was too good to be true. I'll keep you posted.

My trip went from wichita falls to Memphis then Nashville then up to Kentucky to the Buffalo Trace and Woodford distilleries then back down to Smokey mountains in Pigeon forge then back to Nashville then home. My sister in law lives there so trip has multiple reasons for it. 1 place we really like and may be worth the stop is outside of Nashville but is called Loveless Cafe.

Last time we were there was a while ago but there was a winery south of town that had custom crowned head cigars.
We did less touristy stuff this trip but I know good Irish place we hit them just before their st Patty's day stuff and a few other restraunts. My sil took my daughter to a tea party at the hermitage hotel

They did it right with the Connie & Criollo wrappers.I actually preferred the old blend way better. The new blend always has the same issue, when it gets to the transition, it dies off and requires re-lights that ruin the nub experience for me.

First cigar is a mile stone and an 8 year old opus would be a good start. If you haven't smoked with him yet not sure waiting for a better occasion to burn the opus will arise. Take good bourbon too!

Curious the variety they haveThey have a lot of sticks, but only 20ish (maybe a little more) are clone type blends. This was actually the first clone blend that actually resembles its namesake for me. I'm not the biggest Tatuaje expert (as many of you well know), but you could have fooled me with this stick. Very clean wrapper, not tissue thin. Perfect construction (albeit on the loose side), as all have been really. Flavors are very habano like, little earty, little spicy all rounded by a nice sweetness.

Trey, I would take the Opus and a few other cigars and give him the choice. Remind him of the history of the Opus and show him another cigar you think might be more to his liking and let him choose. You might be surprised at which he pics. Just make sure to remind him to smoke slow so he doesn’t end up blowing chow! I haven’t said or heard blowing chow for years. It kinda like calling diarrhea, making gravy. Hahahaha

That is so cool!
I would say If he has never smoked anything with nicotine (cigarettes or vape) as well as never smoking a cigar I would say not the Opus because 1) it is a strong stick and 2) if he knows how special it is he may be reluctant to put it down even if he starts feeling sick.

However if he has been exposed to nicotine already and unlikely to feel sick then Go for the opus!

The 8 yr old Opus should smoke really smooth!
That's the way I would go. Won't be too harsh or strong. Good way to break him in.

I had this cigar on Saturday.
My cousin went to Puerto Rico and brought a couple of these back for me.
It's my first experience with their cigars.
It was good. It was sweeter than I'm used to, and I think it was artificially so. It wasn't gross and didn't taste like fruit or anything, just sweet tobacco.

Finally relaxing and enjoying a cigar after our morning of errands got sidetracked when we found this sweet old man on the side of the road.

We brought him to the pound and it took almost two hours to get him dropped off because they are overloaded and understaffed.

Which means we spent 2 hours with an endless procession of other animal lovers with found strays with the most heartbreaking stories. It makes you lose your faith in humanity.

We saw a pair of dogs that were so thin I was shocked they were still alive and a dog with one of its eyes already gone and the other one on its way out after what looked like a fight with another dog.

All of these dogs were in pain and suffering but they were all so sweet and gentle, it broke my heart. This is the poor little guy with the missing eyes, he spent most of his time snoozing but came and greeted us when we walked up. How can he be so sweet when going through hell?

How was it?
Better than the production Larañja?
That barber pole makes it look interesting!It was really good - the barber pole wrappers are from their Crema line and their Larange line. It was interesting because it changed over time so much from 1st to 3rd that Mrs.Socal even said it smelled different at the end.
