Man, I remember back in the day, I'm talking mid 90's, when PI was a great smoke...I have a couple of specific memories of that marca being totally awesome...I guess it was just one of those windows where something can be great for a spell, then take a nosedive and never get back to what made it a great smoke.

Yessir, I remember those days....

Big day today for smoking
An Island Jim this morning on the golf course - courtesy of AndyCAYP pretty good smoke
and a Perdomo Habano Petite Corona

and later while grilling out with the family an AJ Fernandez Last Call - love these :thumb:
and ended the evening with a Jericho Hill Shot while sitting outside to cool off with the missus
This was a nod to my two nephews (both autistic) who graduated high school today and live on a road called Jericho Hill
Well, that was the rationale to have that last one but I am proud that they were able to achieve this

Congratulations to both of them Tony!....

Started smoking this on on front porch, but once Temp hit 95 F retreated indoors to finish smoking it there. H R 1845 by Hiroschi Robaina Sublime...6.5x54. First one of these in three weeks. Shortly after lighting this reminded me it's the cigar that surprised me the most this year, smoothly changing throughout the two hours and twenty minutes smoked. Think I'd have gotten another twenty or more minutes of fine smoking with this had I not been rushing the smoking while on the too hot porch.Shame, cause these HR's certainly do reward when smoked at an unhurried pace, great construction and near perfect burn line, just outstanding in all respects start to finish.

Was hoping for a cooler evening, but any decrease in temperature seemed be more than matched by an uptick of humidity.Where was the cooling effect of rain? Tatuaje Reserva...5x50. Weighty cigar this right from the opening bell there were clouds of smoke clouds that never diminished for a second all the way to the finale which arrived without the increased heat I'd expected, not at hard to see why so many like this cigar in this size.

This afternoon I had a supposedly 6.2X52 Gurkha Black Ops Habano Torpedo cigar.:stogie: I had to preface the size because my 5 pack was different sizes. I had not smoked a Gurkha cigar in more than 10 years; my earlier experience was horrible.:mope: After lighting this cigar I got a slight sweetness, spice and a mild pepper. The flavors were actually quite good and at the half way points I also got some nice creamy chocolate.:) This cigar had a lot of soft spots, was medium, then went to medium-full and at the 2/3 point went back to medium bodied. The burn was very good and the draw was excellent. I have to admit that this cigar was a surprise to me-it was OK with a very nice flavor profile. I topped off this smoke with a large cup of hot coffee and it was a good afternoon.:santa:

I think that is three, plus twice I have gotten the $10 off coupon for getting almost there. The hardest part about the game is patience, saving the chips up for a long time and waiting for something that's really worth it. Took me awhile to resist the urge to just waste them everyday.

My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it. They are definitely one of my favorite cigars. Glad that I still have about 30 of them left.

I haven't been able to smoke for the last few days as we were gone on a family vacation. So since this was my first smoke in awhile I made sure to pick a good one.

Have been a coffee drinker for a long while.
So once awake and I've had two cups, it's time to cut and light a cigar.
Would guess coffee is my breakfast about 350 days out of 365 a year.
Plus have the habit of drinking coffee throughout the day.
When smoking if it's not coffee, might be Beer,Whiskey, very rarely water.
Don't always drink coffee when smoking.
The caffeine addiction's a lot stronger than the smoking.
Would be a lot harder to let go of.
You just might find that coffee would get in the way of your awareness of changing flavours in a cigar.

Finished this about an hour - hour and a half ago. Paul Stulac Classic Blend Phantom...6.x52. One of the Torpedo shaped cigars that puts out as much smoke if V cut or Guillotined, a nice feature as is the consistancy of taste in each of the Paul Stulac blends, sure do wish he'd make something in a corona size. No photo,as usual and can't make a correct estimate of the smoking time. Just glad it had cooled down a bit after Sundown to allow me to fully enjoy this one.

I've been drinking coffee for about 25 years now, but only in the last couple found I much prefer a strong dark roast. I only drink coffee in the mornings after I've had a cup of water, and don't generally drink any later.

I'd say I usually smoke a cigar by itself or with water (I drink lots of water after cutting sodas and tea from my daily routine) but also smoke with beer or whiskey too.

I figured that since I feel cigars go quite well with stouts it ought to go well with coffee too.

I can't say I've noticed much change in smokes, except for a few I noticed seemed a bit harsh at first but mellowed. I don't think my pallet is typical as I just don't get most of the flavors I see described.

I haven't been to Vegas, but I've heard when you're doing well you keep rolling (no sense in breaking even, right?)

It seems I've been put down for a nap by a couple of med-full/full sticks, as well as a few times puffin' too much on a med stick. Yet today I've smoked a 5 Vegas Classic Robusto after mowing followed by a 5 Vegas Gold Maduro Corona while watering, and since the evening is yet to call me in I figured I'd try a teeny weeny Sancho Panza (these aren't very good, but I have a few just sitting there...) and try my luck along with a homebrewed ESB.

On a warm but not too humid day. Espinosa Laranka toro...6x52. Always enjoy one of these, it may be the combination of the Brazilian wrapper and the Nicaraguan binder and fillers that gives the cigars that unique taste. One thing I'm certain of is that there's an ultra slowing element in the cigar as it has taken an hour an twelve minutes to reduce the length from six inches to four inches. Think I'm a slow smoker most times, but that slow burn is really nice.

Edit: Total burn time, no relights or touch ups need, was Three hours and ten minutes.

Nubbed it anyway!!
Experienced NO ill effects except a busted wrapper.

After every opus experience I have had ended up being extremely frustrating, I took some time to let mine rest. This one has 2.5 years rest so I went for it. It's good, but not mind blowing or anything. At least it hasn't required multiple relights yet.

While watering the grass again I pulled out a CAO Gold Corona with a not quite red and not so plum beer I still had a few of.

But the cigar didn't last long enough and so I pulled out another Sancho Panza cigarillo. These remind me of the old Clint Eastwood movies from the 60's. However I'm wondering if those Italian cigarillos are as bad as these, and they just don't seem to have the same look on me...

Glad you like it too!

Sure hope we are in good weather as we'll be in Port A with be in-laws. I'm taking mostly shorty smokes and may not have much time to burn any. But I have to be prepared, right, which includes a couple of extra in case her brother is interested enough (he smokes one cigarette before bed often).

Sometimes forget how much I like these, consistaency is always right there, but they're pretty hard to keep on hand since they're an enjoyable smoke anytime. How about this fall after it doesn't feel like it is raining with full sunshine. This humidity sucks. Woke up this morning at 7am and it was 78f with humidity at 93%. Gets to feeling hot pretty quick.

Yessir, it's BIG TIME hot right now. It's supposed to be triple digit real feel at 11 tonight. I told the wifey that she needs to go water the garden. I'm busy analyzing this fan under the deck. I think it's going around and around, but needs further research. The crap I do for her comfort. A Por Larranga Panatela from far southern Miami.....

I have to admit I have no idea who you are speaking of. A bit naive it seems...

Regardless embroidery must have been his calling, and a fine one indeed I suppose (not really). To each their own I suppose though.

Apparently I need to come up there and be your student as you can really draw the minutes out of even a short smoke.

Not sure that would be a wise move. Recall a Lad from out yore way name of Ronnie Ray, saying he figured being a Texan he' d be able to handle some heat and humidity, but York, Pa in July was too much of both.

Hear, well read, what you're saying, sure not be needling any Tailors.
Sitting cross legged on the floor all those hours it's no wonder some get a mite crotchety,
would not take kindly to a suggestion that they should switch or swing the other way to get their hands round bigger needles.
Crocheting might not suit them in the tail end.

Still a bit too hot & sticky, but has cooled down some, time for a cigar. Matilde Renacer Robusto...5.2x54. Pretty sure that's the correct ring gauge, but it's time to head out to front porch and light this one.

Eiroa first 20 years ROTT. What a fantastic smoke. This is my second one. Had the first about 4 months ago and it was great so picked up a fiver the other day. This has shot right to the top of my smoke of the year list. I may have to go get a box of em.

My aunt lives in Belmar. Not too bad, though it was fall.

Texas is certainly hot and humid though, and it's a characteristic I no longer tolerate well. I hide indoors through much of the summer and camp (primitive) throughout the rest of the seasons when it's nicer.

That's one thing I love about being by the lake. You can cool off right quick!

Town's really over crowded during Tourist season. The river is only a short walk away so no need to go to the ocean for a swim, but no one seems to swim there now. Far as smoking goes without trees to provide some much needed shade, and with more glass than screens now, heat just builds and stays. Was 109F today in a shaded/out of the Sun location. Think the humidity may've been in the 60's. Like to smoke out there at night, quiet time, relatively.

Meh, I'd say that they are pretty much as advertised, a decent cheap cigar...if you give it some rest first. I smoked one of these ROTT about 6 months or so ago and I didn't even finish half of it before I didn't want anymore. Fast forward to now, after 6 months rest it was not a bad cigar. It's not going to knock your socks off or amaze you at how such a great cigar can be so cheap, but if you're looking for a mild, not very complex, cheaper, everyday cigar it wasn't bad.

This was one I'd not smoked for some time. E. P. Carrillo La Historia...6.125x50. Oddly this box pressed cigar seemed very unlike my recollections of some smoked a while ago As if this time the flavours were more pronounced, less subtle, in addition to be fewer.A guess at burn time is an hour and twenty minutes.
