Another to me New one. CLE Corojo Corona...5.75x46. Guillotine cut this near toro size cigar that sports an attractive wrapper adorned with a classy band that is easily removed due to the Judicious amount of glue employed. Easy light open draw, big smoke production and smooth retrohale, all of which says top quality Honduran tobacco. Would likely have remained totally unaware of this cigar had not WNYTONY have sent it in a Bomb, along some excellent coffee. drinking a cup of that right now.A great big thank you for that Bomb Tony.

Warped Don Reynaldo Regalos 5x46. I have loved every Warped cigar I have had and so far this one does not disappoint. It is extremely hot and humid today with a heat index of 108. So I am smoking this one indoors watching the end of the Cubs/Nats game. Tied 1-1 in the 8th.

I put in six hours in the yard and garden today so I know what you're saying. I sweat so much that I soaked three headbands and put down a half gallon of water. I was having a hard time keeping my KFC burning as it was sweating also.
On the good side, I picked my first tomatoes and cucumbers of the year today, so you know what I'm eating tonight.....😁

That's a long time in this heat. And your heat index was 116f. I spent a couple of hours working outside this afternoon but in 30-40 minute sessions.
I picked 7 tomatoes on the 13th and 4 more tonight. Love'm. I have eaten 2 of them all by themselves. Delicious! Time to grab a couple of pounds of locally smoked bacon and a fresh loaf of bread.

2009 Playboy by Don Diego (vitola name unknown), 6" x 54-rg, with Dr. Brown's Diet Black Cherry soda on ice.

This is my first Playboy (still being made?) and I was never a fan of Don Diego.

Great looking wrapper but soft in spots. Had this in a 65-rh box and then 70-rh for the last year. Burning well, very nice milder Dominican, olor cream and a dash of spice on the snork. Like a lighter Avo in flavor.

Weren't they tied somehow to Casinos?

FFOX Love Affair and went out to look at the garden and decided I needed to stake the maters because they were quickly outgrowing the cages. Went to Lowes and laid my 1/4 smoke cigar in the ashtray. Went inside and found the stakes and some twine. Waited in line and paid. Walked to the car and loaded everything up, grabbed the cigar and it was still fully lit. Never had one laid down that long (10-15 min) and it was still perfectly lit. Amazing!

Change of plans decided to set aflame this as first of Friday: HR 1845 Sublime by Hiroshi Robiana...6.5x54. Purely by chance this is the second of this size in a row. Lighted after a Guillotine cut at 3.30 AM on a nice cool day, along with some nice hot coffee plus the superbly talented and unique Charmaine Clamor to add a big helping of Jazz, and I'm enjoying this threesome immensely.

That might be ok for you, pending approval from His Excellency Sir. Dog Rockets.
If you get the Ok,avoid being close to the person (may really be an Alien creature) in the photo.
Note....the creature has a decent tan on body and arm...but it ends at the neck line and at the wrist, leaving the face and hand quite pale.
Either they ran out of copper paint...or the paint job was done before the head and arm were attached.
Cant recall seeing a Sun tanned person whose head and hands were never exposed to Sunlight.
Best to stay safely in the dumpster....always a chance someone may toss a partially smoked Gurkha in there...
smoke that and you'll be bathed in the(much purer than mere Sunlight) radiance of Sir. Rockets henceforth.
Good advice here:

We used to have a nice stock of bullfrog songs nightly at the farm, but the drought killed that (and the frogs). The racoon's had a feast judging by the bones around the ponds. Used to love sitting out on the porch listening to them carry on at night. This is the second year that we have water back in the ponds, but still no croaking yet.....

Hi Pete,
welcome back.
Wonderful trip accross the pondyou had.
The Playboy cigars, can't say I've seen or heard of those over some time.
Weren't they tied somehow to Casinos?
Reading your post seems the Playboy was/is a good cigar.

Thanks Bob,

It was a really good trip, I think I couid live in Cornwall. Had four goals, achieved all (three were seeing old friends).

I don't know much about the Playboy but it was positioned like a higher end Don Diego (who made them). Not sure about any affiliation but I believe they started around the end of the Boom when there were lot's of private brands selling at some ridiculous prices. This Playboy was good but I can't make a judgement about them based on a single.

2010 Romeo & Julieta Sevens Churchill with sparkling water, no ice on a cool night.

This was bought from JR, they came in tins (20 I believe - will have to check) and were called 7's because they are reputed to have been rolled by level 7 torcedors (the highest). They certainly look the part, beautifully made, exceptional cap, gorgeous wrapper, plump and heavy in the hand but still, after all the age, they smoke without the seasoned depth that you expect (and I had with a R&J Vintage yesterday from a better maker.

Burn is slow and perfect but this is not a nuanced or deeply complex cigar. Think original Ashton without the depth and a somewhat acrid top note. I still have some of these left, was certain that they'd improve with age but this one hasn't. If I wait any longer they'd be in my will.

Pete

We've only just begun. This A.J. Fernandez Last Call ...4.5x48. Looking at the attractive wrapper, and the closed foot you just know it'll light easily, and it does not at all disapoint there, nor is it lacking in smoke production right from the start, a wee tingle there on the retrohale, good looking ash odd whats that ' h' doing in there? never, mind will carry on without worry. This is a nice fresh cigar, soft to the touch with no discernable lumps bumps nor hard spots, smokes well with fine draw. I've smoked but a meager few cigars made by A.J. fernandez, but this is at least the equal of any of his lines that I've had the pleasure of their company. This encounter having been arraigned for me by WNYTONY. The renowned white gloved clubman extrodinaire. And now we shall retire to the privacy of the Verandah, well in this case, the front porch to ...well taste dictates no further details of this affair be writ here.

It certainly is :) His name is Bucky Forte and he was a 40th birthday present to my husband from our dear friend Russ. And yes, of course, there is a long story to go with it....

My husband loves his front yard, like in a creepy obsessive way. If he's not mowing or planting or pruning he is smoking a cigar and talking to it while gently stroking blades of grass (seriously, I am not making that shit up)

On a road trip to Georgia we stopped at a roadside garden store and he bought a ridiculous planter in the shape of an ass (as in burro)

http://https://www.pinterest.com/pin/339669996867126285/

I told him he couldn't put it in the front yard because it's tacky as all get out, so he put it in the back yard and pouted about it

Russ found out about this and thought I was a horrible wife for stifling my husband's creativity.

He and my husband then came up with a plot to get his ass in the front yard. Russ would buy Drew an even TACKIER lawn ornament and because it would be a gift, I would be forced to happily display it in my front yard.

But my husband, being the kind soul he is, would give me the option. If I allowed him to put the ass in the front yard, he would put the stupid, tacky whatever-it-was-that-Russ-gave-him in the backyard.

So his 40th birthday roles around and Russ shows up with a 5 foot cock.

They give me the option to put the ass in the front yard instead, but joke's on them because I absolutely LOVED the giant cock.

So now we have a 5 foot cock in our front yard (except when we have storms in which case I bring it in to the porch to protect it).

BWAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I am laughing MAO :D :D :D

So it all ends well; your husband hauled his ass out to the front yard and you're enjoying a giant cock :p :p :p ... and a good cigar to boot! I'm sure not many women can claim the rights to that statement :D

Started off the weekend with a delicious La Palina Red Label Corona. I don't usually enjoy mild sticks, but this one is a keeper

This afternoon I had a 5.2X52 My Father La Antiquedad Robusto Cigar.:stogie: This cigar is nearly right off the truck; it has been resting in my 65% rh humidor since 5-25-2016. I lit up this cigar and received a flood of pepper and other flavor profiles that stopped me in my tracks. After a few puffs I put my hot cup of coffee aside and replaced it with a large mug of cold water and proceeded with my smoke. This cigar had a beautiful habano oscuro oily wrapper. I was immediately hit with a punch of pepper, sweetness from some fruit and a wispy cocoa. This combinations of flavors varied in strength from puff to puff.:idunno: This cigar took me on a trip with winding roads not knowing where it will take me next. I experienced an array of subtle changes that was intriguing. I normally have my cigar with my coffee but not this time; I wanted to taste everything.:chicken: The construction of this cigar was excellent with no problem veins, razor sharp burn and just the right draw. I could see that this cigar would not be to the liking of everyone; a friend of mine had smoked this cigar and he could not figure it out. The flavor profile is very subtle and complex; my friend felt more comfortable with a Padron-he knew where it was taking him whereas I absolutely love my journey with this stick.:fly: I topped off this smoke with a large mug of ice water and this has been a cigar event!:santa:

Hello Moe,
That's an outstanding write up for an excellent cigar.Having read this I now know what I've been missing when smoking a My Father La Antiquedad. No kidding,"get" some of the flavour changes, but cannot put a name to them. And here you are saying it was, "nearly right off the truck: it has been resting in my 65% rh humidor since 5-25-2016." Moe, for me, that's well aged. Thanks for a five star, five gold stars review.Wait....let's make that a five cups of hot coffee.

It is evening Bob (kind of). I'm outside sweatin' like a fat boy at a free dance. According to the weather on my phone, it's 98 and "Real Feel" of 107. One has to love cigars to hang outside right now....

Hey David,
Not too sure I like those weeds, but Sure dumb nuff to smoke one on front porch, if I remember creck ly it was 'bout 89-91 there (only a couple haf open screened winders) heat builds up there.Doubt the outside temp got much above 80 today.
Now, ifn th were a crick well shaded by trees, least a bit a breeze, mi jest set thar all day, jest a few smokes and praps a jug.

Best I've got is a covered deck here at the house along with a south wind, but still have to do some grillin' tonight. I could set you up at the farm with all the shade, jug and creek you need.....

Defying the heat, or simply unwilling to admit it's too hot on the porch. La Imperiosa Minutos...4.3x42. WNYTONY sent me this in a bomb, despite its 4.3' lenght and slender girth( 42 )it burned extremely well for an hour and thirty five minutes.

It was a little warm to sit outside this evening so I told Mrs Smokey I was going to the lounge and enjoy a smoke. Got there at 4:50 and they had a pipe event scheduled to 5pm and ended up with about 25 folks showed up. I am not a piper but enjoyed a couple of bowls and a Tatuaje Serie P. As much as I try to enjoy a pipe, I am a cigar guy.

Expected I'd like this cigar. Crux Ninfamaniac Dark...7x33. Long lean one this is, good looking cigar, solidly packed, easy light, but extremely tight draw.
When nineteen minutes after lighting the draw opened up, smoke production was decent, if not plentiful.Shortly there was a big flavour change that came out of nowhere and was gone after just a minute or two. Once the draw improved the cigar burned very evenly, with a quite solid ash hanging on for over an inch, until tapped off.Think it was the luck of the draw that kept this wand from being better appreciated.

Congratulations Brian! 20 is a great number.

My old boss used to say, "I've been married for 3 blissful years. 17 total, but 3 of them were blissful." I've used that a few times in front of my wife, and she lets me know how hilarious she thinks it is by punching me in the ribs.

I have not had the GOF, but I would rate the others mentioned above the Rocky Patel, but pricing reflects that except that the Nubs can be had for a very reasonable price. I also like the Oliva G as a pretty good example of a Cammy.

Agree 100 percent on the name, the band and they're not only an attractive looking cigar, but also burn evenly, as well as slowly. When the draw is open it's a really good smoke.Don't know why or how this one was "plugged" couldn't locate any overly solid spots.Certainly would not hesitate to smoke another, expect it would be an excellent smoke.

Haha...thanks, but no thanks...With the mention of PI, I just took a quick trip in the nostalgia machine and relived a few memories of a bygone, less complicated time in my life...There are two very specific moments that I remember and recall how much I enjoyed them, and that the experience still holds up to this day.

Big day today for smoking
An Island Jim this morning on the golf course - courtesy of AndyCAYP pretty good smoke
and a Perdomo Habano Petite Corona

and later while grilling out with the family an AJ Fernandez Last Call - love these :thumb:
and ended the evening with a Jericho Hill Shot while sitting outside to cool off with the missus
This was a nod to my two nephews (both autistic) who graduated high school today and live on a road called Jericho Hill
Well, that was the rationale to have that last one but I am proud that they were able to achieve this

Hi Tony,
At first read I was thinking...'seems Tony had real good day.'

But, on a second read, this " and later while grilling out with the family an AJ Fernandez Last Call - love these :thumb:

...changed my opinion.

A whole lot of genuinely good times and appreciation for the things in life that really matter.
Now I'm no longer thinking you had a good day....now I know you had a Great Day.
Your two Nephews, they certainly deserve Congratulations for their hard earned acheivements.

I got a box of these yesterday. They should be resting but I couldn't resist smoking one. A little strong for first cigar of the day, but really good Nicaraguan flavors.

First in about 10 days due to a mild-ish cold. Felt good to get back in the saddle.

Relaxing with a Tat Pudgy Face with no pants on. The way cigars were meant to be smoked.

Today's choice was a Room101 Dharma Gold, followed by a Warped Corto before it got too hot outside.
