Diamond Crown (CFW) Robusto No.2

A beast at 7.5x54

Very tasty and good smoke production and nice smooth, mellow, tasty smoke

Wrapper cracked all over while smoking and some minor peeling, but Connecticut wrappers seem to always be thinner and more brittle than others, plus it had no effect on smoking, so no big deal.

Perfect draw,burn and construction otherwise

Solid 1.5hr tasty smoke. Just not something I would buy as its just bigger than I prefer, plus the wrapper issues on all the Diamond Crown CFW's I have had, and on other makers Connecticut wrappers often too.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220328/a0f4e9e558b50e062a03b6b7f3c94470.jpg

I've been smoking so few cigars lately, I've adopted the quality over quantity approach.
I would much rather smoke $10 or less cigars and smoke 4-5 a week, but I just don't get around to it any more.
So when I have my cigar every week or two, I do try to splurge a little.
Heck, I'm still spending less money than I used to.
I'll get back in a routine again eventually.

Finally back home after 3 nights in Cincinnati. It was in the 30's every day and night - I don't know how you guys can go out and smoke in that weather....... so first cigar since last Thursday. Found me a La Palina Nicaragua Oscuro toro that cheaphumidors sent me a while back and is it delightful !

2012 Macanudo Vintage Cabinet Selection 1988 No.1

Pretty tasty. Good smoke volume with a few puffs. Ugly as sin. Just completely lumpy, however it smoked fine

It burned well and had a great draw but the flavor profile just didn't hit with me. I agree I was surprised as I usually love LADCs. This one was ROTT, so I will let the last 4 cigars from the fiver rest for a bit and maybe that will make a difference.

Celebrating my last day on the job of 17+ years. We were supposed to be done yesterday, but 4 of us had to finish up today. Last one out to turn off the lights.
Moving and cleaning the building out.
8 semis packed and loaded this week and cleaning out a 36,000 sq. ft. operation with 30+ years of accumulated shit. Lost count of how many dumpsters filled.

This old body is not made for this anymore.

Now time for a new outlook. Also should technically be eligible for unemployment since its a layoff

Absolutely on the new outlook! I have some time due to a separation package. Going to take it easy for awhile. Sit back, try to find myself again. Take on some projects here at home. I have been very fortunate in that I have never had a day of being out of work since I was 15 years old. I have never had time off between the small handful of jobs I’ve held.

Not sure if it is technically a layoff, as I was offered a position in the new location, but I declined. I will have to look into that.

La Flor de Cano Selectos

Cold draw was very tight so used the PerfecDraw on it. Unfortunately the pressure of going through 2 plugs cracked it badly nearly the entire length, causing smoke volume problems the first half.

Was fine they second half though

Perfect draw

Burn was bad due to the crack unfortunately, but smoked ok

From what I read, they are slightly updated. I “think” I liked this one better than previous, but honestly, I can’t recall what exactly I thought when I have smoked them before. My tastes and preferences have changed over the years, so I don’t think I can make a good comparison. They are made in a MF factory, and I believe it from how it tasted.

Last My Father Friday
Lit just a few minutes before Midnight.
I was sure I'd smoked the last of these back in January. Tho I'm not a real fan of Connecticut wrapped Cigar this one did burn as near perfect as any cigar this Year.
Maybe whatever amount of time it spent hiding in that Talavera Jar was just what it needed, any way it has Me thinking of picking up another box.

When having a breakfast cigar, I almost always go for a Connecticut wrapper - even if its a stronger blend inside. But this month's CCOTM release had a specific cigar and coffee pairing and I decided to give it a go.

The coffee is great and I had to get this pairing together before Mrs.Socal Gunner goes through the bag!

The cigar is beautifully rolled and super firm - to the point I worried about draw issues prelight. But the draw is great - maybe because of the aged tobaccos?

Picking up notes of fig from the cigar - and it really does pair well with the coffee.

Thats the unholy cocktail maduro. The band is a different color from the standard. Other than that and it just being a pushed up foot band.
