Monday Afternoon.
La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Reserva Divino 6.25x52.
First one of these for Me.First thing I noticed was that the cap was short,almost flat,so carefully cut only a veyr thin bit,any more and the wrapper would've been unwinding. The light was easy, burn line very sharp. My usual choices are Habano and or Sumatra wrappers. This was something else, have been trying to recall any other cigar that had the same taste, no luck wit that,so far. Based solely on this single cigar just may have found the one that gives me three favourite wrappers. Smoke output was fine. retrohales start to finish were smooth as silk but not without some power,first class,first rate for me. The ash held all the way to the second band,would've held longer but i knocked it off before it burned that Reserva band. Warm Day, only slight breeze,the solidness of that ash was impressive,and yes it was the same all the way to the nub. So, construction as good as it comes. Taste right up there too,has to be attributed to the wrapper. Spice/black pepper not a lot,less than some of Pepin Garcia's other cigars. Overall a solid medium. Box press solid,without being too sharp or too soft, Overall a big surprise for Me and I know I'll smoke another one or two without much delay. Do hope the next ones will be at this level.

Very cool you're up and knocking out the run/ruck that early. Takes a lot of commitment and willpower to wake up that early and run. Been wanting to do that myself - wake up around 0420, be out running by 0430, and be done around 0500 or so. Been trying to get my runs in after work, but early and pre-work is the best to start the day... plus it's hot as balls out!

Very smooth,mellow and tasty.

Cellophane had pretty good yellowing, so I suspect that they are older than 2016

Got this in a trade from jrfoxx holy sh!t what an amazing cigar! Ive had the maduro which I enjoyed, but this was on a whole different level. ~'11 Diamond Crown Maximus Double Corona No.1

Very smooth, mellow and mild, but still fairly tasty and a monster at 8x50

Perfect draw and burn

For construction, it peeled badly around the middle but the wrapper wasn't at all brittle like is usually the case with 10+ year old cigars for me. Still don't think it was a construction issue.

WOW! Super cool. The number one thing I would recommend is getting into the kayak with your wife and taking it/them to like a foot of water, so you are floating, and rocking back and forth to get a feel for how "tippy" it is. Also I would recommend single kayaks instead of a tandem. Any time I tandem with someone I don't give them a paddle... there is nothing more annoying than trying to time your paddling with someone else! And if you are avoiding trees or anything, lean backward only. :)

Decided to give in to temptation and try the Warped Chinchalle tonight. Great cigar for being ROTT but they still can use a little more time, as it usually is with Warped. Construction was great, only required one minor touch up. May have to think about a few more but we'll reserve judgement until I smoke the second one.

I've had close to a handful of Diesels and have enjoyed them all. Believe this is my first from this line.

Picked a couple of these ones up, plus others from their regular line-up for a buck each off Cigarbid. Probably one of the best value brands out there.Wow. At $1 each theres no way you could go wrong.

Nice score.

Really need to remember to check cbid at the beginning of the month when I get my pension before I spend it all on an order from regular vendors.

Keep forgetting all about cbid for some reason. Have scored some incredible deals there in the past

Tasty smoke.
Good draw, burn required several corrections.

Construction, not sure.
Wrapper cracked and peeled badly all over from normal, gentle handling while smoking.

No idea why, its only a 2019 and I know that Gary stores his smokes at 65% just like me, and had a boveda in with it during its short 3 day journey.

Definitely not a $20 cigar for sure though.

Not a bad smoke. Nothing special but i do enjoy me some cameroon. Guy at the shop said these were comparable to OpusX- i do hope hes wrong…

Update: just did a little research (I usually wait til im done or almost done with a stick so i can make an unbiased opinion) and found out its cameroon seed grown in Honduras…interesting. I think I prefer African, but still pretty decent

Very mild in the first 3rd, but very tasty. 2nd third picked up to a solid medium, and final 3rd a medium-full.

Excellent draw, burn and construction.

Did have a pretty big, tight plug in the middle, but a few runs with the PerfecDraw from both ends took care of it nicely.

I've had the same 1959, the Exodus Gold, the Noventa and there was one with a silver label that I don't see on CI. THE 1959 & Gold are the two that I remember most and found them to be pretty tasty. But they were pretty ROTT. So they probably would have been better with some rest, but I do remember enjoying them.
Can't say that I've any of their new offerings.

…And yes, the entire cap was cut off, as well as another 1/4” or so. I dropped it and it landed right on the cap, causing a split. Thankfully these are big enough I doubt I’ll notice.

Yesterday at a lounge:

La Aurora 115th Anniversary

Tossed halfway through as it developed a flavor profile similar to the Crux Passport - a stick I had twice and both had a taste that I just could not get past to enjoy. Before the change, it was OK at best, and ultimately not anything worth the dime dropped. Reviews said this was a great stick, and I've been nothing but impressed by La Aurora, so a revisit will be given at some point.

Aging Room Habano

Been well over a year since I had one of these, but I remembered them to be a richer and sweeter habano profile and very enjoyable. This one was pretty lackluster and had a here-and-there smidge of the caramerlized habano I expected but nothing else really. Maybe it was just this stick since this is the budget offering of Aging Room or maybe my tastes have changed towards this one. Tossed at the 1/2.

Early Sunday Morning.
Was going to write late Night.But it took hours to get posting.
This La Imp was lit well before Midnight, ended, nubbed to be honest, right around 12:20 AM.
Crowned Heads La Imperiosa Corona Gorda 5.75x46 for some reason seem to be at least 48 ~ 49 ring gauge until I've smoked about the first quarter inch of the cigar.
Anyway reminded again to snag a few more of them.

As many as I can (wish it were 8 Alan !) but usually Wed night league and Sat / Sun weather permitting and once in a while I can blow off work for a bonus round. Not too much actuallyBack a few years before I joined the navy in 2001, me and my 3 closest friends all worked night shifts and would meet up at the golf course first thing in the morning as soon as they opened and it was great. Had the course all to ourselves, drank lots of 6am beers, and had a great time.

We went several times a week. Golf with my friends is one thing I really miss about Michigan.

Have only been a few times since I joined the navy and played the very nice course at MCAS Miramar when I was there for my second school.

Great couse, great San Diego weather and a couple good fellow sailor friends.

Been close to 20 years now since I went golfing.

First cigar in several days since a presumed Covid diagnosis. Tasted like chit!! I don’t know if it was the cigar or my taster. I gave it a go to this point, but just could not do it.

I suspect my smoking may be on a little hiatus. Ah well, give me an opportunity to replenish my stock.

I understand that it apparently has a major effect on taste and smell, and can even be permanent.

Fortunately I somehow dodged our major outbreak here at the veteran's home. Around Christmas we had like 45 confirmed cases out of 70 residents, plus about half of the staff had it as well.

Amazingly, with the average age here being 65 to 75, and everyone here having major health problems to begin with, we only had 2 deaths.

Absolute miracle.

“Power Ranger” from jrfoxx . My first OpusX and it really was the religious experience I was hoping for! Im not good at picking out flavors, but im not even sure there are words to describe this. Very grateful my first one was already aged for me!! It is confirmed all the hours of hunting some of these down were worth it, just gotta be patient with letting em age. The aroma was so wonderful it attracted 3 deer into the yard…or maybe it was the apple tree they were eating from… amazing experience all around

I would say 3rd best of the Quattro line, which sounds bad (3rd place out of 4) but it is still good! This one was ROTT and it was a bit too wet, I should have let is rest a bit.

Very tasty. Age unknown, and cellophane wasn't as yellow as the others, but still had that characteristic underlying musty taste I get from cigars around 10 years or more.
