Noon Monday smoke.
Rojas Street Tacos Barbacoa Short Corona 5.5x46.
Closed foot, easy light, like that closed foot, keeps the foot of the cigar from becoming too wet,ensures I think, an even burn right from the start if the cigar's well constructed, as this one certainly is. Good Sumatra wrapper, good smoke production, some pepper or spice on retrohale. It a cigar that invites one to keep right on with the retrohales. Lil up tick in the spice on the tongue as the cigar's burned right on down to the wee nub. Burntime: One Hour and Thirty Six minutes. For sure that's a more'n fair amount of smoking time for a cigar this size, a size, length and ring gauge that is favourite of miine. Figure to hunt down more of these. This one from a Maw sent to Me by Chaingang, much thanks Matt for including this excellent cigar.

Tuesday Night Smoke.
Freyja Valhalla Natural Robusto 5.5x50.
My take on this cigar sent to me by Matt @Chaingang.
Large band, artwork...like an illustration for a Fantasy tale.
Wrapper brown, chocolate? color smooth, no tooth, no veins or noticeable seams.Neither too soft nor too hard, feels heavy in the hand. Looks to me like a Toro with a 52 ring gauge. Top notch construction. easy light fairly even burn line. Slightly wavy about an inch in,but self correcting. Retrohale, smooth no bite or sting, not just a smoking air thing, just mild It's not a Davidoff but no way more than a mild, not quite medium smoke. No hint of a nicotine hit. Should be a good cigar for someone just getting into smoking 'real' cigars. May be a good after dinner cigar or an evening smoke on a calm quiet Night. Good quality leaf in this Dominican Rep. Las Cumbries Tabaco cigar.Burntime: One Hour and Forty Four Minutes. It's a one of a kind cigar I'd smoke from time to time.
Now it's time for a Coffee then off to the Land of Nod for Me.

The pix is of a box I bought from a kiosk in Athens, Greece back in 1989, likely the packaging has been update, but the smokes must still in the Villiger line up.

Oooh, how was that?

A little fresh but I can see potential. A lot of white pepper and maybe a little vegetable. Now its been a bit but I was thinking its like you had a spicy Johnny Tabacanught. I will give it another go after its been in the humidor a week or so. They were telling me it was strong but I am thinking its medium at best. Its no where near the strength of the ruination 10th anniversery.

Perla del Mar Perla G Maduro

My first of these, in fact had never even heard of them before.

Part of a huge amount of various generously gifted J.C. Newman smokes.

Supposedly considered part of their bargain line, but certainly didn't really taste like it.

Very tasty toasted wood and earthy tobacco, with just a little spice on the finish.

Excellent burn,draw and construction, and only a few thin veins and nearly invisible seams.

Certainly didn't look, taste or smoke like a bargain Cigar to me.

Very enjoyable, and it was rott.

'15 Oliva Serie V Melanio Torpedo

Smoked through a box of the robusos about 2 years ago and loved them.

The 6 years of age didn't seem to have changed the taste any, which is good, just seemed a little more mellow and tame than I recall, which was nice.

Great taste and burn, draw and construction and think I prefer the torpedo over the robusto size-wise.

Davidoff Signature Petit Corona

Just plain terrible in every way.

Taste was mainly just sour and bitter tobacco and it was very underfilled, and the burn sucked even with multiple attempts to correct it.

Extremely disappointed for a supposedly very premium nc.

Nope these were in a humidor on a pallet full of local trade show stuff. We used to go around to local festivals and sell cigars and humidors. I guess someone just stashed the full humidor up on this pallet thinking we would pull it out in a month for another show but then it was forgotten about for years

There are just so many different nc's that its dizzying and very different choosing what to get when putting together an nc order.

I have already set up my order for the beginning of next month, but keep changing things as I read these threads and different reviews.

The nc world is definitely very different from the cc world when it comes to variety for sure

You are so right, you could probably never smoke every NC produced because there are just so many! And if you included blends that are not in production anymore, forget about it!
Now in my limited experience, the Bums here could probably give it a close shot. Although they, and I, have some go to smokes that our humi never stay without, they have sampled a large variety.
I'm not sure what your buying preferences are (boxes, singles). I tend to buy 5'ers.
And once you start getting bombed, participate in the MAW, Secret Santa or anything where we choose what to send you, your variety will expand!!

I have certainly run across many more problems from cc's than nc's over the years for sure.

I'm just getting back into nc's after a year or so hiatus from them to focus on exploring more good cc's, but I'm already stocked to smoke nc's a third of the time, with another order of nc's coming next month. Really want to experience a lot of variety of nc's as part of my stock, as i highly value having as much variety as possible, and nc's have no shortage of that.

Haven’t had one of these in probably 8 years. In fact, I don’t think I’ve had the green one. Needed a quickie, short smoke. This was all I had. I didn’t mind the floral aroma, but the cigar was awful. I usually like candelas once in a while.

I did include one CH. This was a first and only for me. These are terrific! Meaty, earthy, leather, black pepper, coffee. Smooth. Copious smoke output.

I’ve heard and seen these recommended several times for a good, lower priced stick. Not impressed. I’ve had 3-4 so far. Ok flavor, but not wowed. This one had burn issues. Started tunneling severely after first half inch. Struggled with it for a while. Let it go out and relit a few times, hoping that would be a cure. The third time, I cut about 3/4 inch off to get past most of the burnt out interior. Then I had draw problems. It might be good if I could get a good burn and smoke output. Ending up chucking it early. Don’t know if it’s the cigar or my continued burn issues. See my Tunneling post.

More good news - I believe you're the first CH lancero! Very nice.I added it to your thread. Not sure how I missed it since I use Tapatalk and get alerts for any new posts or threads.

Really good Cigar, and had a surprisingly good draw for the rg and length.

Always shied away from the smaller rg Cigars assuming they would be prone to tight draws, but have smoked a number of different small rg Cigars recently and my fears are apparently unfounded.

Opens up a lot new smokes for me

Went to my oldest sons house this evening for Fathers Day. We ate 2 large platters of sushi rolls and then we smoked a couple of Fuente Mag R 44 Rosado Sun Grown. This son doesn't usually smoke cigars, but he smoked a couple of Punch CC Tubos while we were vacationing and called and asked me to bring him a cigar for tonight. He said he is really starting to enjoy a good cigar. So we enjoyed cigars and conversation. The power of cigars!
