Well we were going to celebrate. She was bringing home a celebration dinner after getting off early from work for a nice relaxing 4 day weekend. However......

We live on a very low traffic hwy number 25, you turn on it and we are right there on the corner lot, to the hwy. She was stopped waiting to turn, in fact I saw her through the front windows. She was stopped fully, and waiting on a 18 wheeler to go by. When a guy in a dual cab pickup rams right into the back of her.

Thank God, she was not hurt at all. He did a good bit of damage to the front end of his truck, and clipped the driver side, back end. It wasn’t drivable, but cam and will be fixed. Until then we have a rental, which she just got. It’s was obviously his fault, and he even told the trooper, he looked down and when he looked up he realized he messed up. He also wasn’t hurt, thankfully.

That in and of itself, made for a very non celebratory mood. However....

Not even 2 months ago, a woman pulled running a light, and caused a much worse accident. My wife was badly bruised, but again, thank God. It could have been much much worse, so we had just got a brand new car for her a month ago. Since my disabilities make me unable to drive, we only have one. So it was her brand new car that was hit yesterday.
Needless to say she’s shaken up, physically she’s fine, but a bit unnerved about driving. So that was our day, I hope you all had a MUCH better one!

For whatever reason, I thought to look both ways before proceeding into the intersection, and I’m probably only alive because I did. Some asshole came speeding through, running the red light. He would’ve smoked me right at my drivers side door. I now always look both ways before going through any intersection, whether I have a green light or not.

Tonight, Oliva V Lancero. These just get better and better as I work through the box. Can’t ask for a better Habano wrapped cigar. Superb.

Room 101 Daruma Gold lancero. When I first got these they had some type of metallic taste that I didn't like. So I put them away and about once a year I smoke one to see if it's still present. I am glad to say that after about 6 years I'm not detecting the metallic taste any more. But I still prefer the silver label Mutante more. Life's a bitch! :)

These are definitely a feast or famine smoke. When they go wrong and you gotta fight the draw, they’re a pain in the ass but when they go right and have a perfect pull, relatively even burn, they really go right and punch way above their $5 price tag.

I hear ya. I got T-boned when a guy ran a stop sign and right into my driver's side door and now even though I have the right of way and cross traffic has a stop sign you bet your butt that I still slow down (4 years later) if I see a car approaching that intersection.

Give her time and support LazyLightning - she'll be looking over her shoulder (with good reason) for a while.

My wife got T-Boned twice in a 2 year period by people running through red lights in the early 2000's. She wasn't severely injured other than a couple of broken bones and bruised up pretty badly. After the 2nd one she said she was done driving and I told her I would drive her whenever and wherever she needed to go and that's how it's been since. She was a mess riding in the car for the first couple of years thinking everyone was going to run through a red light or stop sign. She is doing much better as a passenger these days. It takes a lot of patience to work through'it.

Nice smoke ringJust for about the last hour it was wrapped. Really disappointed it turned out like shoe leather. 11 hours on the grill and too tough to eat. Really good flavor so I did save it, going to chop it up and do a chili with it at least

End of May last year stopped at a red light in Belmar when a guy parked, angle parking, on other side of street reversed fast directly into the door , drivers side of my car. $2597.67 to replace door and repair center pillar, so week and a half with a rental. no fun. His insurance covered the cost of the repair and rental. Way it goes.

Cards!! I'm originally from St. Louis. Looking forward to finally going to some games this year. Here in Wichita, we just built a brand new AA baseball stadium (it was supposed to be AAA, but they just re-organized minor league baseball). It's a Twins affiliate and in the same division as the Springfield Cardinals. I'll be able to watch all our best prospects, so I'm psyched for that!

I know it’s Tatuesday, but when I was moving my recent order from the “rh stabilization/quarantine” humi, I dropped this one on the floor. I have severe OCD, if it hits the floor, it doesn’t go in a humidor. Been wanting to try them for a while now, so all is not lost. About the first inch in and so far it’s very good.

I could see the younger smokers maybe being more interested a tech product like this, though. Hope they sell well if you decide on carrying it.

I have seen things like this in construction and water damage. Something for cigars I see it a bit gimmicky. I see some use this to taste test what humidity they prefer. For a normal day to day smoker who isn't doing reviews I see the market limited. I could also see retailers potentially using to see how wet cigars are when they come in. Just my 2 cents

LaFarona maduro 6 x 44 or so construction burn and draw very good. No stems like chain_gang found

These seem so much like Fuentes 8 5 8 maduro with a little more kick, deep flavor ,black licorice but pleasing and sweet. I continue to be impressed by this store in ybor city. I will wait for chain gang's more detailed review

They are hands down my favorite Olivia stick. The only other Olivia I actively keep on hand are the Serie V Lancero, those are so good after some sleep.

Well I didn’t get a smoke in yesterday, but today’s celebratory Padron 1964 is the reason why.
The wife and I paid off our mortgage yesterday. Now our house & 3/4 acre of land is ours free and clear! Feels outstanding to be done with it, especially considering the circumstances that made it possible for us to have a VERY modest “dream home” and land.

Thanks everyone,
Well we were going to celebrate. She was bringing home a celebration dinner after getting off early from work for a nice relaxing 4 day weekend. However......

We live on a very low traffic hwy number 25, you turn on it and we are right there on the corner lot, to the hwy. She was stopped waiting to turn, in fact I saw her through the front windows. She was stopped fully, and waiting on a 18 wheeler to go by. When a guy in a dual cab pickup rams right into the back of her.

Thank God, she was not hurt at all. He did a good bit of damage to the front end of his truck, and clipped the driver side, back end. It wasn’t drivable, but cam and will be fixed. Until then we have a rental, which she just got. It’s was obviously his fault, and he even told the trooper, he looked down and when he looked up he realized he messed up. He also wasn’t hurt, thankfully.

That in and of itself, made for a very non celebratory mood. However....

Not even 2 months ago, a woman pulled running a light, and caused a much worse accident. My wife was badly bruised, but again, thank God. It could have been much much worse, so we had just got a brand new car for her a month ago. Since my disabilities make me unable to drive, we only have one. So it was her brand new car that was hit yesterday.
Needless to say she’s shaken up, physically she’s fine, but a bit unnerved about driving. So that was our day, I hope you all had a MUCH better one!

Oh man! Glad she is OK. That sucks. Mention “diminished value” to the insurance company since it was a near new car.

Took a 45 minute (one way) drive over into Kansas to get Chicken Annie's chicken carry out for Mrs Smokey and I and smoked a great new to me cigar that I believe was gifted to me by chain_gang a Black Works S&R Lancero. Made my little trip very good and the chicken was equally killer. Thanks Matt.

Had the rojas osok colab Los Tejanos last night it was good too but I think the standard was my favorite of the 3. Neanderthal and a nice dram tonight after an wonderful anniversary dinner with the Mrs.
