I've tried one or two of the five cincos, and they were decent enough. Haven't tried the gold line though...

Me, too, droy1958, me too. Another apparent facet of Obeymecare, they get huge insurance incentives if the whole workforce is tobacco free. Have to have 10 days no nic, give or take, to be clean. So, I'll be a good boy and pee clean for hire, but afterwards. ... lol

That sum beach and his "affordable health care" can kiss my Rosy red ass. Our health care went up around 40% and our deductible doubled. Just so happened that I took an ambulance ride a month or so ago and I just can't believe what my costs are now. Shit, there goes my blood pressure. Wonder how much affordable money that'll cost....

Bob, to work for CoxHealth, you have to pee clean, no nicotine or cotinine (sp?), the enzyme created by nicotine. It's stupid and rather personally invasive policy, but if that's my shot to get back onto an ambulance. ...

Not a fan of this so I can't like your post, though I could like your resolve to do what you gotta do to do what you wanna do. A bit invasive I believe too.
I can't claim to know any statistics, but to my uneducated mind I'd think this nicotine issue stems mostly from cigarette use, of which I was an abuser smoking 2-3 packs every day! Certainly aren't completely out of the woods with other forms but I've not heard of quite the health issues.

Good late Morning Pete,
Can you point out any other cigars, that are in current production, that have that "citrus tang" ?
Would like to find some that I might be able to note that flavour in when smoking.
Enjoy the start of the NFL draft, good luck with your picks.

Hi Bob,
I'm bad to awful on knowledge of current production. The citrus tang comes from, generally, South/Central American grown Connecticut type wrappers. I'd describe the color of the wrappers as tanish gold but I'm colorblind :). I did a comparison of cigars with these wrappers in August, 2015

Some of these are still available. Tim (@Cardinal) mentioned that the Oliva CT is an Ecuadorian as well. Filler leaf with a citrus note exists. I've tasted it in Nicaraguans and to be specific, many of the Pinar Del Rio line (like the Seleccione that I'm currently smoking).

This afternoon.Sultan Yan Java Corona Ron Stacy Signature...4.75x42. Second of a pair received from WNYTONY..this one had a much lighter wrapper than the first. After the initial light and first draws less potent and smoother or with less "bite" than the first one. While the first of the two quickly became less potent especially on the retrohale this one seemed milder all the way to the end which came seventy one minutes after being lit, that was fifteen minutes quicker than the first Ron Stacy Signature lasted, perhaps I was concentrating less on the cigars flavours while reading, or just smoked it faster. To sum this up, the lighter wrapper may have made this one a bit milder, anyway both were good smokes of cigars I know I'd never have gotten to try had Tony not sent me these, so thanks once again Tony.

I like it but it's a little sweeter than my favorites. It was more to my dad's taste overall. One of my friends visited a few weeks ago and he said it was about the best he'd ever tried, really loved it.
I prefer the Doublewood personally.

I really the Doublewood too. I prefer it with a sweeter cigar and the Caribbean Cask more with something a bit more spicy. I think they pair well that way. If you haven't had it before, you might want to try Auchentoshan Three Wood. It's not a sweet as the Caribbean Cask but has some great fruit/chocolate/nut notes. Excellent with cigars IMO.

I'm running down to fumes on a couple bottles right now so it's about time for a trip to the liquor shop. I'm still in novice status on scotches which means trying a new bottle almost every time - I'll definitely look for that Auchentoshan on your recommendation.

2013 Alec Bradley 2nd. Size appears to be 6-3/4" x 48-rg. Kirkland coffee with a little cream.
I bought several bundles of these AB 2nds when on sale but all were received bone dry. Vendor accepted the return but I forgot to send this bundle (of 10) back. Kept them in a 72-rh humi for a couple of years. I shouldn't have wasted the space.
Only this one is marginally smokeable, the others all had impossibly tight draw and dull wrappers from being dry so long. Taste would be ok without the issues but it underscores what I've said before, that in my experience, '2nds' are (usually) training cigars and these obviously were.

Man, I bought a bundle of the little perfectos early in 2015 when CA put them as a top value smoke and CI had them on sale cheap. I have not enjoyed them at all, and I think I've gone back to the well at least 3-4 times now. Don't think they're getting any better.

I was surprised that it had some very mild transitions, but they weren't nearly complex enough to keep my attention. I chucked it about halfway through.

I was surprised that it had some very mild transitions, but they weren't nearly complex enough to keep my attention. I chucked it about halfway through.
Smoked a couple, gave the remaining three away. Bought them because they are claimed to be made by Villiger and they were the first large ring gauge cigar I saw from Viliger, and wanted to try the wrapper leaf. There is very good reddish hued leaf from one area in Peru, well this doesn't seem to be it. Or maybe it was the sub par filler and binder that were really bad. Villiger makes another the villiger Colorado 5.5x54 that, like the La Libetad is said to be highly rated.
If that rating too came from whoever gave high marks to the La Lebertad,it would be interesting to find out what they'd been drinking,or smoking at the time.
Villiger does make some quite good smaller sized cigars but measured against the quality level of say the Villiger Premium No. 7 Sumatra machine made cigars,
the La Libertad disapoints.

I just have to know what a Folsom Prison cigar can be like. Had to Google the image. Yep...
Wouldn't have even heard of it if it weren't for The Man In Black.
Looking at the background I'm trying to figure if you are in the north or south. Certainly not the mountains (loved Flagstaff and Sedona), but it almost seems there is too much greenery to be too far south. Base of the mountains?

This was one I'd been waiting, and waiting to smoke. Wanted to be sure the Sinuses would'nt be reacting to the hay fever or whatever it was that had been giving me problems. San Cristobal Lancero...not sure of the exact length or ring gauge. But this's a very well aged beauty, and it sure smoked that way.
A most relaxing enjoyable smoke indeed. Total time was One hour and Forty eight minutes of pure smoking pleasure this Tuesday afternoon.
Glad to have waited until I was certain I'd have time to smoke this one without having to worry that it would be affected by that dang hay fever thing.
Thank Cardinal (Tim) for this beautifully aged masterpiece from the magic Don Pepin Garcia.
Now just look at that brown cellophane from the San Cristobal, added a cellophane from another cigar to provide a proper comparison and show what aging, proper aging can do for a quality cigar.

HR 1845 SUBLIME...6.5x54. Late afternoon smoke, super easy light on the closed foot of the cigar, burn line wavered twice but self corrected each time without needing a touch up. Impressed by how well the cigar burned since the temp outside was right at 50%F and the humidity at 59. Raining steadily while I smoked on the front porch with the cigar lasting for two hours and thirty two minutes. Excellent smoke on a wet and dreary day.

Have a little bit of time before the kiddo goes to dance class so I selected the Diesel Unholy Cocktail sent by BlueDevil07 that I got today. Found it is a full strength stick so I'll buckle up! No time for a nap today if it's a bit much.
http://i65.tinypic.com/153wt4x.jpg
For being a full strength stick it doesn't come across as being overpowering. Testing my manhood I suppose!
You should see the colored cellophane! Been aged a few years.
Thanks Ferrell!
I ran out of time as I had dance time confused, but this stick didn't effect me as many med-full sticks have. No nap necessary. Is that due to age or is it incorrectly labeled full?
Very nice smoke I must say and not one I likely would have tried.

Just one year can take enough of the N out so you dont get spinny or poop your pants :cowpoop::doublepuke:. Have noticed this on quite a few fresh sticks like La Antiguedad OR, FFP, Illusione Ultra 9 etc.

Seth if you're referring to baby Saz (odd shapped bottle with a long thin neck) it is much sweeter and thinner than THH. Handy is a more traditional and higher proof Rye. Much more of a maple flavor.
If you're talking about Saz18 (The Antique Collection one with the green foil) I'm not sure as I haven't tried it yet. I have a sample coming next week though and can let you know lol

Late getting here, Friday afternoon smoke. My Father #3 Crema...6x49. Once that triple cap's cut is smooth sailing all the way, near razor sharp burn line, no touch-ups or relights needed, just relaxing with some Rum & Coke, and re-re-reading a good book. Now unless it"s already Monday, weekend"s under way.Could mean smoking a cigar, maybe even two if there's some Sunshine on tap.

Hi Tim (@Cardinal),
The Pinar del Rio Sungrown are ok, not special, a tad better with age but not a lot.
I find that I need to keep the Pinar del Rios (Seleccione, Sun Grown, Oscuro and Classico) at a rh ~70, otherwise they burn too fast and lose flavor (if dryer), the Classico a bit less than the others. The Sun Grown wrappers flake too much for my liking, an annoyance more than critical but I fight them towards the end.
The Pinar sampler bundles (5 each of the above) are mostly decent smokes, I like the Classico best - most consistent and a good Ecuadorian CT wrapper. The Seleccione are fuller and the best when they smoke well but that's bundle to bundle. I got these for ~$29/bundle of 20 so no complaints.
No reason not to smoke yours when you please.

Hi Pete,
First day of Sunshine and blue skies in what feels like a month of rain and more rain.
Rather nice to get in morning smoke without the backgound of dull skies and rain.Even the coffee tasting better.
Cigar was H.Upmann Petit Corona that lasted for an hour and a half,a good one to match the brighter day.
Don't see much other than grass and weeds growing around here, those are certainly doing very well.
Hope your plantings will do well, and soon.
