For those who wish to comment, the FDA has re-opened the comment period on the proposed regulations. You can comment here:

Regulations.gov (http://www.regulations.gov/?source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery#!documentDetail;D=FDA-2015-N-2002-0008)

Please, for the love of all that is holy, make it well though out and reasonable rather than "Mind yer own damn bidness you grubby gubment mf'ers :angryfire:" While it may be cathartic, comments like that only serve to hurt our cause. If you can't comment politely, it's probably best that you just don't comment. That's just my 2 cents, but you may feel differently.

The comments may get totally ignored and it may not make a damn bit of difference, but we might as well try and be heard.

AndyCAYP sent around a nice list in the Nice Ash email that I thought was very good and to the point.

1. Premium cigar and pipe tobacco is not chemically altered as other forms of tobacco or tobacco alternatives are

2. It is not addictive as other forms of tobacco are

3. It is not targeted towards minors as other forms of tobacco are

4. It is not used by adults as other forms of tobacco are

5. Premium cigar and pipe tobacco shouldn't be swept up under the same regulations as cigarettes and e-cigarettes

Hope some will read and agree.

The extended comment period is only for the part of the proposal that deals with the date by which products would have to have been on the market to be exempt from FDA regulation. Right now, the date in the proposal is 2007, which would mean that every cigar that's come to market since 2007 could be subject to FDA approval. The extension is not for comments on anything else to do with the proposal, just that specific component. You can read more about it here News: Tobacco Groups Push for FDA Regulation Date Fix | The Stogie Guys (http://www.stogieguys.com/2015/12/12032015-news-tobacco-groups-push-for-fda-regulation-grandfather-date-fix.html) and you can get information about how to comment here Regulations.gov (http://www.regulations.gov/?source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery#!documentDetail;D=FDA-2015-N-2002-0008)
