This is a very intense Burley blend. It has rich Burley body and depth of flavor. There is not a lot of complexity here but lots of good Burley tobacco taste. There is just enough Virginia and Perique to keep it from being cloying, not enough for a balance of flavors. In terms of nicotine strength, this one is substantial, definitely above the mid-range of the spectrum. It has burned dry and cool in every pipe I have smoked it in: Orlik billiard, Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman, and a Sunrise Canadian. HB is easy to light and it stays lit with very little effort. Mine was a bulk tobacco and was smoked right from the bag with no air time. It is a very satisfying smoke if you like Burley tobaccos. This is one that I will be coming back to in the future.

Yes, one of the great C&D offerings. Alligator Gar sent me a sample a couple months ago, along with several other burlesques, mostly from C&D. When the sample runs out, I'll definitely be ordering some more.

Sounds tasty - this one has been on my "give this a shot" list for a while.

I may have to try this some day. I dislike most burley blends I try but there are a few that I really like once in a while. Maybe this would be one of them.
