Has anybody heard anything about these 100g tins yet? They just appeared, like magic, out of nowhere!

How about you, JimInks? You seem to be on top of things!

1865 - A luxury blend of the finest tobacco leaves and Latakia provide a full bodied smoke for the seasoned pipe smoker.

Founder's Choice - A unique aromatic tobacco with notes of vanilla, rum, and mango. A fresh and fruity blend of Virginia, Orient, and Burley tobaccos are gently pressed and cut into cubes to give this Peterson tobacco a truly distinctive finish.

Signature Flake - A traditional English Flake combined with natural bright Virginias from Africa and Brazil creates a subtle flavour of spice with a hint of sweetness.

I may break my spending halt and pick up the Signature Flake... Gobble gobble.

That's the first I've heard of them. Where'd you get them?

I'm a tobacconist, they came in with today's shipment from Ashton (Peterson's distributor here in the States).

The price is fantastic for 100g, so I bought both tins of Signature Flake. Suppose I'll work through a few open jars of things then pop this to try.

Couldn't help myself...

Initial smell of other Danish flakes, like the Stokkebyes, but multiplied by two. Very strong at first, but that goes away fairly quickly. Overall it smells slightly sweet, lots of natural tobacco and sort of a lightly sour/vinegary note to it. Fairly moist out of the tin, not like Sam Gawith but not as dry as I've seen others.

I've read the descriptions on smokingpipes, and am intrigued. I know that aros get bad press, but I find a good aro very enjoyable - and I would argue that Peterson makes some of the best. Uni Flake was one of the first pipe tobaccos that I enjoyed, and I will smoke Nutty Cut all day long without complaint - love the stuff.
