Walnut Antique-Algerian Briar

Asked about this pipe on another pipe forum, no answers, perhaps someone here may know something about this line. One of the group of pipes I bought this weekend. I've found a variety for sale but can't come up with a date range or maker. I'm going to hazard a guess it's prior to 1970 as every other pipe in this group that I can date are earlier than 1970. It's a neat octagonal shape. Any information or directions to information y'all can provide would be appreciated.
