I saw these on SmallBatch and wondered if anyone has bought or better yet had a chance to smoke the El Gueguense? I know there is a story behind this first release from this new company and they are a much anticipated release by a bunch of cigar lovers. I went ahead and ordered a blind 5'er of Robustos.

Any thoughts?

Just got one in the Cigar Authority Care package for the month so I will be trying one soon. They sent the Churchill so I just need to find a day when I'm not doing anything else ! LOL

Tony, sounds like a nice care package. Buying this 5'er was done totally blind so I really don't know what I'm buying. Hopefully they will be good. What I do know is the are a Nica Puro done by Nick Melillo of Drew Estates fame and when he parted ways he was committed to a non compete for a period of time, which has been spent blending this cigar as he starts his own company. I have a feeling this might be a good one.

I've heard Nick Melillo talking about it. He says it's pronounced El Way-when-say. It means the wiseman IIRC.

I wouldn't have had a damn clue how to say it if I hadn't heard him talk about it!

Yes it is a great deal - well worth the $19.99, and I am definitely looking forward to this one too. They will be featuring it on the show (10/10) and interviewing Nick Agua of Foundation. Should be a good one to listen to and smoke along.

Cole, I think you may be right. If you hear anything I hope you will keep us posted. I want to try Saka's new stuff too. I had hoped to get the coronas of the Foundations but they were already gone and I settled for Robustos. No biggie.

Edit- I just read where Saka said a couple of days ago that his Dunbarton release was about a month away.

Might have gotten pushed back but I could have swore I read October. Though with this release, all the TAA releases, and Monster release I'd probably wait an extra month too.

Cole, I ran into Mr. Saka online today and asked about a date and he replied if all goes well, Oct. 20th is the date to export the first shipment. Looks like it is going to be close to a month before we get a shot at them. Just wanted to pass along the new info.

I burned the Churchill I had over the weekend. Great smoke - really smooth and great flavor. Now I'm going to have to try a Corona Gorda

I got a 5'er of Robustos and I agree with Tony. I think they need a little rest but should be fantastic.

I thought it was El wha-when-say?
Anyway got one in the CA care package and smoked it this week before listening to the podcast. They pretty much agreed with my thoughts on it. It was med to full and had was sweet with lots of pepper and cedar. Very Nicaraguan in flavors. Burned and draw was perfect. I really liked it. I dont know what the MSRP IS on these but should be at least a $10 stick.
