Howdy folks! Well I finally broke my "fast", if you will. It has been a very rough first week of classes for me. I am taking a full 18 credits and working more than I did last semester. Consequently, I have almost zero spare time. But...I am actually enjoying all of my classes! I finished all my liberal arts classes over the summer so now I can concentrate purely on my two majors!

Right off the bat I have two big projects for my two studio art classes. The finished products are due in three weeks but there are weekly updates and critiques. The rest of the classes involve a LOT of reading and papers.

Now my job this year is as the Operations Intern for the Admissions office. What I will be doing is the most awesome thing ever! Last semester I took Digital Video I and did a couple interview videos and a spoof video of the Houghton Study abroad program ( https://youtu.be/1gWHgFdtsLQ ). They liked them so much that they decided to give me the job of doing Houghton's promotional videos this year! We already have several projects lined up and I am seriously working my butt off. Since I am a non-traditional student I am allowed to work more than 10 hours for the work-study program. So anytime I am shooting film for college events I will be getting paid!!! Woohoo! Seriously, this is like a dream come true for me!

Unfortunately, it severely limits my free time. I will be working with one of the faculty to work out a feasible schedule that will allow me adequate study time, work time, and time to chill. I'm thinkin it might be a wise idea for me to cancel my Netflix subscription! LOL

Anyway, I had a bowl of my "mystery mix" last night to celebrate surviving the first week! Only thing missing was an adult beverage! LOL

I take it you enjoy shooting video, so that sounds really cool that you get paid for what you have fun doing.I'ld say good luck on your projects but I'm sure your skill surpasses simple luck.Great to see you back in here and wish you the best.

I do enjoy shooting video. I really enjoy the editing process. While I might have some natural talent, I have a LOT to learn! Hopefully, by the time I graduate, I will have learned enough to make a decent video production.

Well Chris, From what I saw in the last video you are well on your way.Looked really good to me,and if I remember correctly alot of the others here were impressed also.I myself am really good at capturing my fingers, Almost every pic I take, I have to edit out the finger on the side.

Glad to hear of someone so enthusiastic about education. I just turned 50 and after graduate school I am still picking up new classes and certifications thanks to my employer's education assistance program, essentially bullet-proofing myself for any future issues I might have. You know, they can't take that away from you. Good luck.
