Despite the fact that our forum is in its "infancy stage", many exciting things are underway. If you'd like to get involved in something, head over to the Cigar Bum Events Forum. If you'd like to dedicate some more of your time, start something going. It can be a rewarding experience!
Right now, stonecutter2 is running something especially for our members who are new to cigars. It's called the Newbie Sample Trade (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/showthread.php?108-Noobie-Sampler-Trade) . I'd recommend that every cigar "newb' try this one out first. 9 years ago I received my first NST package, from a veteran smoker, and I still remember its contents and my excitement opening it.
Jimmy's got a Non CC Make a Wish (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/showthread.php?110-Non-CC-MAW) underway. You're the Grantor of a wish first and then the Grantee. Think about something good you'd wish to smoke and check it out.
There's lots of other things happening right now in the Events Forum, too many to list here. I'll be updating and adding some of the other events from time to time.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ........................................
Please remember our troops. The Troops Effort (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?45-Troops-Effort) is underway and Rock31 is in there working hard to get packages out on behalf of the Cigar Bum Forum members.
It's not just all about events. Some great threads have already started and will definitely resurface over time. Here's the latest: Questions You Thought Too Stupid To Ask (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/showthread.php?331-Brian-Williams/page1).
Smoke a good cigar lately or something memorable in your pipe? Why not write a review? We like reading reviews; and don't forget the pictures ...we really like pics!!!
Finally, our fine gentlemen fond of the pipe are "stoking" the events and conversations in the Pipe Forums. Pipe enthusiasts need to go down and meet the guys!
Jeff's got the NST for Pipes (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/showthread.php?835-Newbie-Sampler-Trade-for-Pipes) going. New pipers can trade a tin of tobacco for a variety of tobacco samples. Nice way to sample different blends of tobacco.
The lights are quickly turning on and Cigar Bum is coming to life. Keep in mind, our philosophy is to have a forum "for the members and by the members".
A special thanks to ALL our members for ALL your contributions!
