My tupperdore had been at 73% RH about a week ago. I took a few sticks with me this past week and had them in my herfador a few prior to leaving with nothing to contain the RH. Today, while watering my needful lawn I decided to pull one of this sticks that dried out a bit, which smoked fine until the end when I noticed this:

It smoked fine but looked like hell. What's up with this?!?! It's an Avo Classic...

What was your outdoor humidity today? Something tells me in a place called Lakeway in TX might be a tad humid. If your cigar was at 73% and it is without any Rh device for a few days the wrapper would dry faster than the filler and binder. When you smoke a damp cigar that interior moisture expands as it gets hot and the dry wrapper splits. This is possibly what happened. And if you are drawing high humid air each time you puff and the filler is already on the high side Rh, there is going to be some expansion taking place.

Pretty much sums it up, I would only change "possibly what happened" to most likely what happened.

I'll be certain to leave the last stick alone for a while then! As my yard needs attention (been gone nearly a week with temps over 100) I'll likely be out tomorrow too to help it as I can.

I'd have to say, though I had no idea, that your explanation seemed point on. It had been at 70-73% RH for several weeks prior to setting it aside for about 4-5 days, and though the previous stick worked out just fine our humidity levels were below 60% as it didn't feel humid, whereas today felt like Panama!

I had something similar happen earlier this summer, but with much different conditions. Mine had been sitting at 64%, took 3 with me on a camping weekend, each in a tubo for physical protection. I am in a low RH area and camped in a similar environment. 2 of them were perfectly fine, but my Tat Brown Label started unraveling like that, but much earlier in the smoke. i still have no idea what happened, as it was in perfect shape before lighting up. It still smoked fine, but I had to be careful with the wrapper...

I've had one do that before when I got a shipment and couldn't wait a couple weeks for it to aclimate.
Smoked it ROTT and it looked nearly identical to that one.

2-3 weeks and they're fine. I keep my humidor at 60%-65% though.
