Hey Fellow Bums. Hello from Ancaster Ontario Canada. Has anyone tried the PDR Reserva Dominicana? One was given to me by a friend who claims it's a pretty good smoke for it's price. It looks good with a nice pigtail. Nice clean firm wrapper. Noticed that the nose is sealed. Looks great, can't wait to fire it up.

By coincidence I had one this morning. I broke my cardinal rule of resting everything I get for at least 90 days because of the good things I have heard about these. I will be getting more to let age a little but I must say it was good. Some of the flavors come across a little bit too crisp, I think thats what I mean to say. What I am saying is they havent had enough of a chance to blend so its almost like they are all fighting for dominance over the other. I think with time the slight earthiness will mellow and become a background flavor for the leather, mild spices, and a hint of dry cocoa. I think it has the potential to be a great stick.

Thanks, Mike. This one has been resting for 4 months. Should be good.

PDR's 1878 line is a decent line, and can often be found cheap. When cheap, it's worth it, but I wouldn't pay MSRP.

The 1878 Capa Oscura was a nice cigar. Haven't tried the Habana yet. I want to try the Lancero...

Oscura is the best of the line, IMHO.

Thanks for the comments. I fired it up last night and it wasn't bad. Good one hour smoke to the nub. Good cigar for it's price. I'm going to purchase a few to try at a later date.
