I'm going to fire up an Epernay Illusione today. Anyone in CB land tried one? Let me know your opinion on them. Thanks.

I've not had a bad Illusione yet; it's the best cigar in the Illusione line in my humble opinion.

Kind of overpriced IMO but a good smoke. A bit mild for me though so its basically a morning cigar if I smoke one.

I have only had the Illusione Rothchildes. It was good :)

I hear their candelas are quite good as well.

I like the Epernay, like Cole said they are a bit on the mild side and overpriced, but they have a toasted gingerbready flavor I like. If you end up liking those, I would try the CyB for less money, it has more body than the Epernay but a similar flavor profile. They have been discontinued but they are still around.

I'm a fan of the Epernay line. They are a solid smoke, if not just a bit pricey.

Great cigar. I have not had an Illuione I did not like but the Ultra.

Illusione Rothchildes is a damn solid smoke. I had an Ultra which was OK, but not as good....

I'm a big illusione fan. My personal favorites are the anunnaki from this year and the eccj 20th. If you have a chance, grab one to try.

The gigantes is also a solid stick as well.

IMHO I prefer the Epernay over the Rothchild, both are good!

A good, but not great, smoke, that would be on my buy list if it were less expensive, but since it isn't . . . . I've had one resting in my humidor for months, and will smoke it one of these days and see if resting improves the smoke.

Funny you should ask, I just smoked one of these about a week ago. Had been resting in the humidor since Sept. It was really good. Nice and smooth, with a mild flavor.

Ive gone through the entire line and Im absolutely in love with the Le Taureau and L'Elegance and have rated them very high. These are the best imo but ymmv. ofc like anything else it all depends on the batch. I have seen some very poor quality Le Taureau, dry, brittle wrappers, almost greenish leaf...unfortunately. For this reason I tend to buy them at the B&M, with MN tax it drives the price very high.

August 2014 Tasting Notes for L'Elegance:
Soft hay, earth & aged tobacco aroma. Mineral, sugar cane, faint musty tobacco cold draw. 1st - soft cocoa powder, toasty tobacco, faint caramel, buttery cashew & earth; light coffee, sesame on the finish. Great start. Perfect draw, great smoke, even burn, good ash. 2nd-earth, soft cocoa powder, coffee, cedar, leather & spice (warm). 1:10 Mild-Med

I have some pretty good looking ECCJ but wont try them for at least another 6 months.

I say theyre worth your hard earned coin. Hope that helps.

Just had my first. A good mild-medium experience. Haven't had one of those until the Epernay. I enjoyed it. Might start keeping 5s of coronas in the humi.

Well, the Fume de Amour is probably my favorite 'treat' stick at the moment. The Epernay is on my radar as is the Pactum...
