I had heard of this product before, but I could never find it anywhere locally, and I didn't feel like driving two hours down to San Diego. Plus, some corporate offices are just that, they aren't set up for walk-in customers.
I emailed them, and they were kind enough to hook me up with a coupon code to order just a six pack, instead of a 24-pack.
I will be using them with some cigar reviews, obviously, and will report back on how well they work!

They're here! Into the fridge they go! Now to figure out which cigars to pair them with!

Pure Ingredients - p (http://purtoniq.com/pure-ingredients/)
From their website: "Pürtoniq’s innovative formula is based on The Palate Balance Equation: volume, body and sweetness held in delicate balance with acidity, astringency and bitterness."
True, Bill, it might not be any better than those Sparkling Arrowheads or Talking Rains, but we'll see! (plus, price-wise all three are probably around the same price).

It's funny I'll drink soda and I love beer, but I don't like carbonated water weather it's flavored or not

Seltzer is an acquired taste. I used to not like it but now I drink straight seltzer all the time - no sweetener or flavor, just CO2 and water.

I pay $.89 for a 2 liter of the Talking Rain. Looks like a can of the Purtoniq is about $2

Yep, but if the hype and the science make for a better palate cleanser than just plain soda water, then IMO it's worth it for special cigars. Like this Graycliff I have with a 30 year old Cameroon wrapper :)

Hey if it works go for it. I was just throwing an alternative out there.

Zeede, just curious did the Palate Cleansers work?
I have a few nice cigars I plan to try this boys weekend and wondering if the Purtoniq you mentioned is worth buying?

My palate cleanser better come from a glass bottle and read something like: bourbon, scotch, whiskey...
Actually, I prefer to call them palate "enhancers".

Damn! I don't care how "gimmicky" this is! Seems cool as shit to me. Carry on, Marine!

Sorry for such a late reply! I'm not sure why CB isn't emailing me when I get PMs and such.
I think that if you don't want an alcoholic palate cleanser, and just water doesn't work that well for you (it doesn't work that well for me) then this is a good option. Carbonation seems to help cleanse your palate, but most folks don't like the taste of seltzer water, and some may not want the flavor and caffeine of a lot of your typical soft drink options.
For myself I don't think I'll go out of my way to buy more of it, but it is definitely worth a try.
