I've set up a new location for my wineador in my office and because of the proximity of my office to my daughters bedrooms I was looking to find a way to add some type of lock to the door. I don't need Fort Knox type security and if I can somehow avoid permanent damage to the wineador that would be preferred. It just needs to be there to keep young curious hands out.
Anyone ever done or seen anything like this before?

My humidor came with a nice lock, but honestly, my kids have always respected my guns, so the cigars are no different.

Can you lock the door to the office?

My koldfront has a lock. I would think without penetrating the sides or severely altering something you may look into what zeede said.

Maybe try to find a bicycle cable lock that is the right length to go around the wineador, fish it through the handle and all the way around and lock it. they come in various lengths, so you should be able to find the right size. And, they are usually coated with something to protect the finish on whatever you are locking rather than just being a metal cable.

This would be a good choice. If you cannot find a bike lock that fits you can get the needed cable, clamps and a padlock at a hardware store and make your own.

I've seen people use the child proof fridge locks on wineadors. Not sure if this is what your looking for but something like this would work well. We have one on both the fridge and stove drawer and none except our 6 year old can open it. And even she has troubles.
