I thoroughly enjoyed my first bowl after getting some help with my pack.

But the tobacco is not as expensive and you can play junior chemist if your inclined.

I am enjoying my second bowl right now.
If I can get the hang of packing and keeping a bowl lit, I might just start taking a pipe to work and quitting the cigarettes

Here's a page that might help with that
Good-Bye Cigarettes, Hello Pipe - Pipedia (http://pipedia.org/wiki/Good-Bye_Cigarettes,_Hello_Pipe)!

I've heard that's a trend that people around here are seeing. People quitting cigarettes to take up pipes

Hmm there was no data on that page. But with a little practice it should do the trick

Man that would be awesome.
I had trouble keeping a pipe lit at first, but this video right here played a HUGE role in my starting to love a pipe.

I still use this method often with ribbon cuts. It is so simple and easy to do.
Welcome to the dark side brother. :pipe:

One of us! One of us!
Welcome to the pipe side. They are looking for enthusiastic new pipers such as yourself over at the Newbie Sampler Trade (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/general-pipe-discussion/newbie-sampler-trade-pipes-835-13.html). You won't regret it!

Welcome to the slightly-less-dark side! Yes, pipe tobacco is cheaper than cigars, but unless you stick to cobs things can get out of control pretty quickly once that collector part of the brain starts paying attention to pipes.... Hope it really helps get you off the cigs!

Welcome. I have went from 1 to 1.5 packs a day to 2 to 5 cigarettes a day. If you haven't already noticed, the variety beats cigarettes by a long shot. Enjoy your self brother.

Lol. You guys are great! I knew I came to the right place for support in having will power to be frugal.
So tonight I stopped by a local cigarette store and bought my first pouch of some cheap black and gold. It's not awful but I guess I can't complain about the price.
I guess I need to stop by the B&M after payday and try some real blends. And most of all practice, this is definitely not the instant gratification and love affair like I had with cigars, but it might be worth it in the end
