Is anybody else going to the Columbus Pipe Show August 28-29?

NASPC Show (http://www.naspc.org/shownaspc.htm)

Looks like it will be a good time. I'd like to meet some of you there!

Interesting. I'm not a pipe guy. Will there be actual smoking there? Will they have a heart attack if I lit up a stogie?

I don't know if smoking will be allowed there; I've emailed the coordinator and will let you know when he replies. If smoking is allowed, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't raise an eyebrow if you lit up a cigar.

Don't know if I will be able to make it but it's on the radar. I know at least one member of my local pipe club plans to go.

No smoking inside.. but they have a sports bar down the hallway which has a large patio with tables with umbrellas.

Tab, have a great time. These shows have changed a lot since I frequented them when they were just collectors while now there's a larger presence of stores and suppliers.

@Lapithicus (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/members/lapithicus.html), probably will be an area for smoking but I doubt on the show floor. Depends on local ordinance. I agree to call ahead to find out.

Statewide there is no smoking in any indoor venue that has employees. Designated hotel rooms are exempt and any pipe and cigar shops in standalone buildings, or ones in plazas that existed before the ban went into effect.

It's been about 20 years since I've been to a pipe show. Even then I only went to the one in Charlotte, NC for a few years and then a small one in Atlanta.
