View Full Version : Do you limit your cellar to Virginias and Vapers?

This was accidentally posted in the cigar section because I'm a dummy. Hopefully the mods can delete that one and we'll repost here.

I am about to start actually buying more tobacco than I smoke to get a small cellar started. I've been watching Youtube videos of guys showing off their stored tobacco and have been really surprised at the number of aromatics I'm seeing. From everything I've read, time doesn't do aromatics any favors.

So what does the bulk of your cellar consist of?

I'm thinking the vast majority of mine will be Virginias, Vapers and maybe a few English blends.

Exactly what mine is.
Virginias, Vapers, Virginia-heavy blends, and some English.
I have some aromatics, but not cellaring on purpose. Just some accumulation.

Mine's about 70% Virginia, 30% other (mostly balkans or english or whatever you feel like calling them). Wouldn't mind trading the balkans for more virginia, to be honest; it's pretty much all I smoke anymore. As far as aromatics, I try to keep a bit of Butternut Burley around for when the urge hits, but I don't cellar the stuff.

You see a lot of smokers smoking aromatics because they are about 90% of what is sold. I like one as a change of pace, but my preferences are straight Virginias, VaPers, VaBurs, and some burley blends. I like English blends as a change of pace, too.

One thing I notice is that many smokers of English blends, as they get older, tend to gravitate towards Virginias. I'm one of those who did.

Most all the ones I enjoy are burley blends, but I am always willing to try others.I only light up once or twice a day,
so it's easy for me to stock up some.

I don't cellar, I hoard. There is a difference.
I am currently hoarding a myriad of different genres because I like them and don't want to run out.
I guess we'll see how they age if I still have some 'X' years from now.

My cellar is at 84% of VA, VaPer, VaBur or BurVa and VaOr. So yup I do it too.

Mine is about 60% Virginia and/or Burley non-aromatic blends. Another 20% is English blends, with the last 20% being aromatics. From what I've read, I'm not really expecting a return on the aging of the aromatics; it is just proper storage. Trying to make them last until I can get around to smoking them, in other words.

I'm sure over 60% of my cellar is VA/VaPer but I have a fair amount of English and a few Aro's.

I have a little bit of aromatics in my cellar, and a couple stacks of English/Balkan tins. The great majority of my cellar is VA's and some VaPers, as that is all I bought in the last couple years. I rarely make a tobacco purchase without a 250gm bag of Homburger Veermaster.
