Date: 6/5/15
Tobacco: Gawith, Hoggarth & Co Bob’s Chocolate Flake
Age: Maybe a month or two
Blend Contents: Burley, Latakia, Virginia
Pipe: MM Missouri w/ Forever Stem
Tin Note: Light dried fruit and whiskey
Prep: Cube cut.

Notes:
I cube cut my last flake of a sample I received from a BOTL, and loaded as much as possible into one of my cobs.

Initial light and first few minutes were strong with the scent of flowery soap. Still not a fan, but I pushed through it.

After a bit of time, something interesting happened. The soap faded to the back, and a pleasant sweetness came forward. I can’t really place the flavors, but enjoyed it. I think there was a hint of the whiskey, but I’m not positive.
This tobacco has a thick, rich mouthfeel.
I did not get any chocolate flavors, but the flowery soap briefly popped in every once and a while. It was muted, but there.

I did notice the burleys scratching at my throat. Burley does not fully agree with me, but this one was pretty good; worth the mild burley scratch.

I may need to get a little to store.

Fyi: I tasted nothing but soap and no chocolate in this blend the first time around. The secret is to chuck the open tin in the back of your tobacco drawer and ignore it for a year. Then rehydrate the petrified flakes with a little rum and seal it up to stabilize for a few days. Whole new tobacco. Soap taste is gone, Lakeland flower taste is gone, now has a taste of waxy chocolate and it burns much better too.

I just realized I put this in the wrong place.
Can one of the mods move it to the reviews subforum?
