Size: Robusto (5.0"x50)
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Long
Pairing: Angel's Envy and then later Glenlivet, 12 year
3013I did something a little different with this cigar. My friend went on a Mission's Trip to El Salvador and brought me back whole coffee beans from their market. I decided to grab a handful of those beans and infuse a few of my favorite cigars for 3 months. After resting for another 6, I tried the Oliva O Maduro tonight.
The wrapper had become a little bit darker than the other Oliva O's I had in my humidor. It has a raw chocolate smell and an obvious dark coffee roasted smell to compliment.
On the light, There are lot of flavors - leather, some caramel almost, coffee, chocolate and some spice. A great opener.
3014 On the second third, no touchups needed, the burn remains very consistent. The draw is also perfect. The ash holds firm as well. The chocolate flavors comes more to front and complements with more spicy flavor and a buttery flavor too.
On the last third, the coffee is still there and the buttery flavor becomes even more stable. The leather is still consistently apparent, but the chocolate has mellowed out.
This cigar was really great. I highly recommend infusing.
