I have no argument for the no. 1 choice, as I do love a cigar with coffee.

I'm going to have to try the root beer pairing. I've heard several people mention that lately.

I may have to try the ginger ale/ginger beer pairing. I'm not much of a soda pop drinker but I might try that one. Coffee is definitely my #1

Love coffee, Coke, Dr. Pepper, and water. Not a big fan of the finger ale.

Also really like cream soda.

I didn't like ginger ale or Dr. Pepper because it made me burpy.

Coffee might work, since I do most or my smoking after lunch now. Before I did it after dinner, and the caffeine would have made it hard to go to sleep.

I love ginger ale yet never paired it with a cigar. I'm gonna have to give it a shot.

I agree with the list. I like all of them that are listed minus Non-Alcoholic Beer. Lol

Looks good to me. I do like cream soda with a cigar and would use that to replace NA beer.

Coke Zero/rocks with lemon juice or a heavy lemon twist. Not the Zero/Lemon stuff in the soda machines.

I'll have to try coffee some time...never really thought of pairing it with a cigar.
But, I figure alcohol content in most beers to be so low that I would consider that my favorite non-alcohol beverage to have with a smoke...:stogie:

Lately I've been drinking Fresca with my Cigars. Gonna try some tea, and a couple others perhaps Cream Soda or Ginger Beer.

I drink coffee with my cigars all the time. Makes for a great pairing, depending on the cigar. And I've had ginger beer and rum with them...hadn't really occurred to me to just have the ginger beer. I'll have to try that. It seems like it would be a great pairing. Nice little bite to go along with the pepper of the cigar...

List pretty spot on, minus the Arnold Palmer, never had one no lemonade thanks. Water in general, coffee with Cuban in the am, dr pepper, root beer, always go to's.

I can't really argue with it. My personal top 3 would be...

1: Water
2: Coffee
3: Tea

I don't drink pop or sugary crap, so I can't really comment one way or another on the soda selections. I used to be obsessed with Coke (when I quit drinking it I dropped 35 pounds in 2 months...stuff is terrible for ya haha) and I thought it tasted awful with cigars. I could see Mt. Dew or Dr. Pepper being pretty tasty though...

If I'm having a cigar in the morning it is almost always with coffee. If it's later in day almost always water.

I too was recently introduced to root beer with cigars and I must say the sweetness of the root beer and the natural sweetness in maduros is a fantastic combination!

Coffee or diet Pepsi for me...

I haven't enjoyed ginger ale with some of the milder sticks I've tried it with, though as the article points out, it probably just overpowered them with its spice. Definitely second the cream soda pairing though. I'm not big on soda in general, but it seems to go great with all types of cigars I've tried so far.

I remember when I use to smoke cigarettes I loved them with coffee but for some reason I have never smoked a cigar with coffee. I will next chance I get now that I have been thinking about it. I normally drink alcohol.

The next time ya smoke a pepper-bomb try Horchata with it. It really cuts through and cleans the palate.

The best Horchata is often home made and includes ground nuts, barley, and sesame seeds, in addition to the standard ingredients.

I found the list to be spot on! For us "teetotalers" I do enjoy the occasional N/A beer with my cigar, but prefer the darker colored options.

(For full disclosure... I break down and have a couple of "special occasion" bourbons every year. I hate the idea of being thought of as a quitter)

I used to drink ginger ale with the cigars, then later Dr. Pepper, but ultimately it made me really burpy, which I disliked.

Yep, a shot of non alcoholic Irish whiskey and Irish Cream with a dollop of whipped cream and nutmeg.... ;)

Definitely a coffee freak. Have a dual-sided maker (pot and k cup) for just that reason. However, I have one time had an A&W root beer with an LGC wavell, and it was quite nice! Matter of fact, y'all might a seen that one time, as I was smirking at car bombing Old Smokey lol

But seriously..goose island root beer is pretty choice.

Coffee w/ mild cigars
Root beer w/ maduros (Fitz Root Beer, St. Louis)
Ginger ale or Dr Pepper with peppery/full bodied cigars (FDLA, for example)

I'm not sure about Arnold Palmers, though. The lemonade part doesn't sound like a good pairing.

The milkshake is excellent, the grape soda is definitely an acquired taste... <cough>

I just happen to like grape soda... wouldn't actually recommend it.

I prefer chocolate or mocha as these are very complimentary flavor combos with cigars... really weird, I bet I have spent 20+ posting online on cigars and I don't think I have ever once posted about my affinity for milkshakes and coronas.

I've never tried sparkling water with a cigar. Sounds like a great palate cleanser and a way to try and pull out nuances in a cigar. I'll have to get some.

Yeah it's good for that. I drink the infused sparkling water with no sweeteners.

Anything without carbonation for me. Surprising because 6 of 10 of the suggestions all have carbonation.

I've tried all of those pairings except for ginger ale. My personal favorites are sweet tea in the afternoon/evening and coffee in the morning.

I've got to vote for coffee and rootbeer, but if you have the chance to try either of the below they are terrific pairings with cigars.
