Well here I am asking advise again. My wife is going on a cruise with her mother and sisters next February. Are there any tobacco or pipes she should keep an eye out for at some of the PoC's.They are going thru the Panama Canal with stops in Costa Rico,Cartehenia,Aruba, and I don't know where else.We have never traveled outside the states, I'm not counting my service travels here, so this is a true adventure for her.

I wouldn't have her make purchases at any to the PoC's... Too many tourist traps which = Fakes IMHO.

I'm hoping she will find some local designs, their version of a cob.
I think if she hooks up with one of them older travelers she can mug him for his Calabash.

Best advice I can give is to never ask your wife to buy something for you while she's on vacation. First off, this basically gives her direction that you want her to shop (hope you have sensible cc limits) and second is that she will likely be too involved with shopping for herself and her mom/sisters anyway, so your request will be a far afterthought.

Most popular tourist destinations sell overpriced junk anyway.

Actually it was her idea,, She feals guilty going off at our buisiest time of year. I've told her to worry about having fun, not shopping for me. I will always have EBay,and 4noggins,and P&C,,,,,,,,,LOL

If she searched hard enough, it is possible she might find a local artisan pipe maker. But really, I don't consider that area a hot bed of pipe making.
