Hello all, I am Kevin and I am from Seneca Falls NY. Whether he knows it or not Browns7213 referred me to the site through the garage journal forum. I have been smoking cigars since I was around 19 or 20 and am 36 now. I picked up cigars in the military and like most quickly graduated from the gas station version to going to the cigar shop in town. I was hooked and to this day smoke 1 or 2 every time I play golf which is around 1 or 2 times a week (Apr-Oct in NY). I dont consider myself a noob but I also dont consider myself to be anything above novice. I hang out with a few other cigar smokers and have learned a lot. I am up to a 30 count humidor thanks to the wife!
I try as many as I can get my hands on but with budget constraints I tend to only end up with my usual cigars. I tend to stick to medium to full bodied and mild to medium strength by default. I have a tough time with so many choices spending money on something I am not sure about. I am hoping to learn not only about smoking them but also finding trusted reviews similar to my tastes so I can make better purchase choices!
Thanks all
AlanS

Thanks everybody! Lots of folks from NY is cool. I did get an early start but then I have always been a bit older than my age, mostly physically but some mentally lol.
I recently took a trip to Cabelas in PA and was shocked to see the huge Cigars International there. I picked up some Diesel Unlimited Robusto Maduros for $20 for 10. I thought they would be a medium body medium strength. Bought them on a wim and they were on sale. I smoked one without looking at the reviews or type on purpose. Found out really quick it was like a medium/full body and def. full strength. Any words about that cigar?

They are good smokes. The whole diesel line, and most of what AJ Fernandez blends are good cigars. Usually pretty cheap as well. If you liked that flavor profile, I can suggest a few more to try.
Cigarbid.com will be one of your best friends/worst enemies if you chose to venture to the "devil site."

zeebee I enjoyed the flavor profile but the strength was a little to much for a golf outing. Will be a great smoke when I am home chilling and can enjoy the buzz. I wont turn down any advice or suggestions you may have. I have learned a lot of brands to try now just looking at the smokes people are putting in the "what did you smoke today". So hard to pick brands out of the blue without suggestions on a limited budget and that thread really helps.
