OK so here is the deal. I am in the market for an inexpensive jet lighter. I have probably 3-5 cigars a month right now(this will probably pick up in the summer once it it above 45 out at night). Here is the catch. I have Amazon gift cards that I would like to use to buy it. I found a couple in the $8-$10 range that I was thinking about picking up but I thought that I would leave it up to the experts here and see what they come up with. I would like to keep the price <$20.

Also the wife says I need to pick up and ashtray for outside as she doesn't like the ashes all over the deck. I can't imagine that there are huge differences in where I am going to put my cigar ash.

I've seen two big-name industry insiders fire up their Cubans with a Bic lighter.

If it's good enough for them...

The Ronson Jetlite is the standard recommendation for a cheap jet lighter. You can pick up a couple and stay in your budget.

If you are looking for reliability under $20 I would go with Vector KGM, Jetline, Vertigo, or Firebird.

I have a couple firebirds and they have worked great for me. I would not hesitate to buy another. I have some torch lighters from CI and if you'll shoot me your addy I'll send you one on me. That should fall well within your budget. Lol

+ RG for you(if I had any to give). I think that I might take you up on that.

Very generous.

+1 for the Ronson JetLite. You can pick one up at Walmart for about $4 and it's one of the best lighters that I've owned.

Ditto on the Ronsons. I bought a pack of 4 on amazon for about $20 awhile back.

I also have a Vertigo triple jet lighter that I picked up at my B&M for $9 that holds a ton of fuel, but the triple jet is a bit much, honestly. I prefer my single jets.

I have this ashtray on my back porch and like it very much.

as far as the lighter my wife has had this Xikar for a few years and it works great.

It is called the Vertigo Cyclone....I have sold arount 700 of these things and received maybe 2 back in returns. They work and are very reliable.

Can't go wrong with a Jetline or Vertigo torch...can get 'em from one to four burners...I'm also a Ronson Jetlite fan, and I like the Z-Torch inserts that go into a Zippo case. No reason to pay over fifteen to twenty bux for a lighter, or a cutter, in my opinion. They are just simple tools that eventually get lost or worn out, why pay big bux for 'status'...but I'm just thataway...others would disagree, and that's cool...if I had their money, I'd burn mine! LOL

I really like Black ops lighters, the twin jets are very reliable and have a huge reservoir. And can be had for $7 on cbid or CI

I don't know if you've seen the ashtrays that Forrest ( R1100RS ) is making (http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/showthread.php?3142-Wenge-Ashtray), but they are beautiful; truly works of cigar art and great conversation pieces. That's something the wife could appreciate and you could take pride in.

In your price range and as suggested, a Ronson is probably your best bet, if you want a torch. Otherwise you could get a Zippo with a butane insert and have a very nice lighter for not much dough.
