I haven’t had that in a good many years, it is good, especially with some age on it

Wish I could find my Snake tamper… 🫤Lol, hey, that tin and date looks awful familiar Chris.
How was it?
Any noticeable difference between 7yr aged and fresh?
Have had tons of aged Cigars, but only a little aged pipe tobacco, and all of it I've never had fresh to compare to.

That’s because I bought 15 tins of it on sale back then.
It’s good fresh, but I noticed a nice smoothness to the flavor profile when I cracked that old tin open.

2017 Escudo Navy Delux Slices.
Excellent smoke. Very smooth and Mellow but not lacking in flavor
Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake
Very good, but should have dried an hour or so. Had to light for almost every puff.
A little on the harsh side, but seems typical of young tobaccos compared to the aged ones I've had. Going to hide the second unopened tin to see if I can age it a couple years at least.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230822/9f32ee56285d6c90d6e9f921fd226748.jpg

A few before bed bowls last night.
2016 Frog Morton's Cellar
2016 Hearth & Home--Anniversery Kake
2016 Hearth & Home--Viprati
All very nice.
If you twisted my arm, the Frog Morton's was the standout of the 3 with its heavy Latakia blend and on the very end of the finish, you could taste the aging in whiskey barrels, and I'venever beena whiskeyfan, but it was a very nice, light taste of it only and for those that don't know, it comes packed with about a 1" cube of barrel mixed in which I thought was neat.
Thanks again for the well aged and unique tobaccos Chris!

Figured you’d like the FMCYeah, I really did, and when I read it was aged in whiskey barrels I got little nervous, as when I was a drinker, I never liked dark liquors at all, but it didn't have a heavy whiskey taste to it, just an added, smokey smoothness. Great stuff

Gawith Hoggarth & Co--Best Brown Flake #2
(my 4oz just arrived yesterday from smokingpipes the minute I got the email that they had it back in stock, so I jumped on it before word got out (although I did post about it in here for all my pipe smoking comrades, since it's so hard to find, and goes fast) and bought 4oz.
FYI to those who ordered, it's extremely wet, so definitely needs some drying before smoking. An hour and a half spread thin, and mine feels much better.

P.S.--No.402 Luxury Twist Flake

I feel you man.
I hadn't smoked a pipe in a long time, probably a few months.
Last night I got the hankering and had a bowl of Gawith and Hoggarth Dark Birdseye. It really hit the spot.

Hung out at my local shop for a few hours today.
Had a bowl of SG Brown No. 4 in a Nording Canadian. Strong stuff but tastes so good.
Also had a bowl of C&D Bayou Morning that's been aging since March of 2016 in an unfinished Savinelli Series 3. I was hoping the years would tame down the perique, but it was still too much for me. I sent the jar home with a friend there who loves the stuff.
Been trying to smoke a pipe more. I miss it.

Was pouring down rain at deer camp today so I sat in the cookshack with my nephew and enjoyed a bowl of HH Old Dark Fired in a Dr. Grabow.
My nephew (30 years old) is starting to delve into pipe smoking as well, so I took a few things for him to try.
A good way to spend a rainy afternoon.
