My Dr. G. Omega is filled with smouldering "Soo Blend" from Austen's in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Austen's is an antique furniture and other random just store with a decent-for-a-small-town humidor and selection of pipe tobacco. Not sure what the Soo Blend is, but the proprietor assured me that it was a custom blend for their store. Notwithstanding my disbelief, it's a cavendish-based aro with a hint of burley and a sort of plum/whisky flavoring. Not what I normally reach for, but not too bad overall. Burns well, stays lit even with slow smoking.

Experimenting with some Fire Cured Dark Air that I picked up from Larry the Tobacco Butcher (http://thetobaccobutcher.com/). It's a little harsh flavorwise by itself, but definitely has potential in a blend. Strong in both flavor and vitamin N, burns well. Can definitely taste the campfire.

Added some perique (also from Larry), about 25% of the total. Helps flavorwise, but it still needs some sweetness to balance. Nicotine level has gone from strong to bracing :) I'll add some VA next.

This evening I had a bowl of Stonehaven (2011) in my large 45 degree large freehand no name bent.:pipe: I went digging thru my stash and decided that I will start off with Stonehaven and I also went digging thru my older seldom used pipes and came up with this 45 degree bent.:wave: I generally have been using my extra large pipes but today I was impelled to go with regular large size. My smoke this evening is delicious and delinitely hit my spot.:thumb: I think that I will dig out some more of my older pipes for a few days before going back to my regular extra large favorites. I am topping off this smoke with an ice cold mug of Becks brew and I am feeling relaxed.:beerchug:
