A bowl of G&H Bright CR flake in the little Jeantet Prince (a great little flake smoker). Man that stuff is good, smoked slow slow slow and savored. Basically breath smoked the whole bowl.

I swindled a single flake of this from a friend I converted to the pipe, who had a big order of different tobacco and cob shipped to my place so I could make sure the C&D blends were optimal moisture for smoking, and to doctor up the cobs-- I always chisel out the portion of wood shank that extends into the bowl, and pipe mud em'. I also drilled out one of the MM Washingtons and put a hardwood plug in the bottom.

Wish money grew on trees, because I love me some G&H!!

This evening I am having a bowl of Cornell and Diehl's "Briar Fox" in my extra large no name Pick Axe.:pipe: I have been thinking about having this tobacco for a couple of days and this evening I dug it out of my stash. I really do not know why I like this tobacco but every now and then I get a strong craving for it.:idunno: Previously I had purchased several tins of this tobacco to see if I liked it enough to buy in bulk, but I don't smoke it often and my use of it does not warrant getting it in bulk. When I smoke this tobacco I never want a second bowl as I do with some of the other blends, but this evening it is delicious.:facelick: Since it has been a little cold for California standards I am topping off this smoke with not one but two small glasses of brandy which goes so well with this tobacco.:thumb:

2015 Mixture "A" in a (date unknown) Ser Jacopo L1 lovat. 2nd smoke in this pipe - it's a keeper. "A" still too light and lacks proper nuance but making progress.

I agree and I consider Gawith Hoggarth at the head of the class but I understand (and know that you do too) that they're not for everyone.

Ennerdale and the Bright CR flake are the only ones I've tried, and I've loved both. Ennerdale I instantly loved, and though I am usually very good about keeping TAD in check, 500g of that is on the agenda for the near future. I am only a bowl a day smoker, so that will last me a good long time. But then I tried the CR flake, and thought "damn, I could go for a pound of this too, so light and pleasant!"

That's the way she goes with tobaccy...
