Caldwell Nothing You've Ever Heard Of should be coming out soon. Its a pricey release but the initial release will only be 500 boxes(10t).

Crowned Heads also has another LE coming out but won't be easy to get.... http://halfwheel.com/crowned-heads-sending-paniolo-especiale-2015-hawaii/78898

Then you don't want to hear Tatuaje is supposed to have a big year. A lot of special retailer releases and killer blends he's bringing back.

Daaaaamn, those are high. I love my Caldwells, and I've bought most of mine at Blue Smoke in Dallas which is listed as one of the stores to receive these cigars. In fact, I've bought a box of each of their first 3 main releases.

But $18 a pop pretty much prices me out, especially with their other lines all sub-$10.

Yea Pete is opening a store in Maine, they bought a old bank and turned the vault into a humidor. KC gave me the whole run down a few months back when I ran into him at an event. Pete and KC are going to be at Famous tomorrow doing a event

When Pete came to our shop we were talking and he said he wants to take a break from special editions. He followed that up by saying the reps would want to kill him.;)

I think if he took a year off people would be freaking out and amped for the follow up year.

I can see where it gets tiring for him but you have to do something with all those amazing blends. Why not share them with the world and make some money in the process? Plus a lot of his releases are limited but sort of in rotation the way they come and go, which I like.

Its the business model for the industry to constantly churn out new stuff to keep their brands relevant. Which makes the proposed FDA regs so damaging, as every new release would have to under go a full review prior to launch. This is similar to the way Rx drugs are approved, the drug maker pays the FDA a $1.6 million "User Fee" to guarantee the drug is reviewed within a year. However, the FDA rarely makes that deadline with reviews dragging on for up to 2-years. And a review does not guarantee approval, they can simply say No to approval. If cigar makers have to pay a user fee, which it will, there will be very few new releases in the future. It could be why we are seeing such a flurry of activity ahead of the FDA decision.

Take this one for what its worth, but sounds like marketing speak to this brand manager.

Altadis U.S.A. Inc. said it has recently unearthed a small batch of Trinidad cigars that have been neatly tucked away in the depths of its vintage cedar room for nearly a decade. After years of aging, the cigars are being released to the public under the moniker Trinidad Lost Blends.

Two sizes of the exclusive series will be made available: Salomon, 6 inches by 52 ring gauge, and Belicoso, 6 1/8 by 54. The scope of the Lost Blends release is extremely limited, as only 50,000 cigars will be made available to the public.

I have a hard time believing that. Seems like lately everyone is trying to act like they have all these cigars they just happened to forget about for 10 years before magically finding them again.

I understand all the valid points you guys are making. Just saying it's to much for me. I was trying to keep up with all the new stuff going out but it just was to much for me and it really made me lose interest. I'm at the point where I don't want to sit down and smoke anything longer then a 5x50. It took a lot of the enjoyment out of it for me.

Agreed. There was another one announced last week that the daughters of the Quesada owner, who BTW know nothing about tobacco, stumbled upon some 16-year old stuff sitting in the corner of the warehouse. AND, they were given the reigns to use that tobacco to develop their own blend. Ugh, huh.

The Tat TAA gets released in September. The planned release date for Las Calaveras 2015 is May according to Halfwheel but that makes no sense seeing as how Day Of The Dead is Nov 1st which is what the cigar is released in honor of.

Some more marketing.

Davidoff has unveiled the full details of its next release, Davidoff Limited Masters Edition 2015.

The release consists of two different vitolas, although each box will have three different-looking cigars. The boxes will contain four of each of the two sizes: Robusto (5 x 52) and Toro (6 x 54). The catch is that seven cigars will wear the regular white Golf secondary bands, while one Robusto will have a gold band.

Davidoff has marketed this release around the game of golf. The four Toros are packed in tubos and made to be smoked during the course, while the Robustos are made for the clubhouse after the round. The gold cigar is made to be given to the winner of the four-person golf game.“Aficionados who enjoy a round of golf with friends while contemplating the perfect scenery of the course, and find pleasure in the great camaraderie and celebration at the clubhouse after their game, will fill their time beautifully with these exceptionally crafted cigars,” said Charles Awad, svp global marketing & innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG, in a press release.

Both cigars use an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Dominican criollo binder and a variety of Dominican fillers: piloto volado, San Vincente visos, piloto visos, hybrid corojo / olor seco.

Suggested retail price for the box is $232, while the company indicates the Robusto should be priced at $26 and the Toro at $32 before any applicable local taxes.

Davidoff Limited Masters Edition 2015 is expected to begin shipping in April and the release is limited to 7,500 boxes.

This is the second release Davidoff has used under the Masters Edition name and a golf theme following the 2013 release of the Club House Toro.

On sale April 15th.

L'Atelier Côte d'Or features a small amount of Pelo de Oro tobacco that has been grown in Nicaragua by the Garcia family of My Father Cigars. Pelo de Oro is notoriously difficult to grow, as it's prone to disease and produces low yields, which makes it quite an investment for a tobacco grower. However, it's a tobacco varietal renown by cigarmakers for its combination of strength and sweet flavor.

Côte is wrapped by the same Ecuadoran Sancti Spiritus leaf seen on the L'Atelier Selection Spéciale series of cigars, while the all-Nicaraguan double binder and filler blend has been tweaked to incorporate the Pelo do Oro.

The cigar, which measures 7 inches long by 47 ring gauge, retails for $16 and sports an all-white band with the embossed gold-foil L'Atelier leaf logo. Côte is packaged in glossy white boxes of 10, of which only 2,100 have been produced.

Oliva's 'Nub' Finally Living Up to Its Name

The Oliva Family's new Nub Ultra® allows cigar lovers to get to the sweet spot of their smokes even faster. Not only has Nub Ultra® cut away the boring and tedious first 1/3 of the cigar, it's cut away the second 1/3 as well. This means that smokers can start with the most flavorful part of their cigar – the nub itself – from the very first puff.

Cuba Unveils Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill Gran Reserva
David Savona
Posted: March 23, 2015

Cuba is continuing its trend of releasing ultra-pricey, limited-edition cigars at the Habanos Festival, the annual gathering of cigar distributors, retailers and lovers of fine Cuban cigars.

The Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill Gran Reserva Cosecha 2009, a plump cigar adorned with three bands, was previewed to those who attended the opening night party in Havana on Monday, February 23. Like other Gran Reserva cigars, the tobaccos used in the Wide Churchill come from a vintage crop, in this case the 2009 harvest.

The Gran Reserva Wide Churchill measures 5 1/8 inches long by 55 ring gauge and comes in boxes of 15. Only 5,000 boxes, each individually numbered and painted with a piano-black finish, have been created.

The cigar is unlikely to go on sale until the end of the year, and it wouldn't be uncommon for its release to be pushed back to 2016. (The Partagás Lusitania Gran Reserva, which was previewed at the 2013 Festival, didn't go on sale until nearly a year later.)

A sample of the cigar, which was made with an unblemished, tawny brown wrapper, was smoked during the Festival. The draw was spot on, requiring just the right amount of effort. The burn was slightly uneven; the ash was blackish grey, typical for Cuban cigars. The flavor was impressive, with a honeyed peanut note and a sweet, unctuous quality reminiscent of a Sauternes dessert wine.

While Room101 is just getting started with its retailer exclusive Ichiban Series and has announced another retail exclusive outside of Ichiban for later this year, there will be a third project launching April 2.

It’s called El Mas Chignon, Spanish slang to describe something as “the most epic,” and it will be exclusive to Famous Smoke Shop of Pennsylvania. The line consists of four cigars: EMC #1 (4 1/2 x 60), EMC #2 (5 1/2 x 50), EMC #3 (6 1/2 x 60) and EMC #4 (7 1/2 x 60).

Yes, that’s all 60 ring gauge vitolas, a first for Room101.
“Building the Room101 El Mas Chingon really pushed me out of my comfort zone,” said Matt Booth, founder of Room101. “For those that know me, I’m more partial to smaller ring gauge cigars… When Famous came to me with this concept, I went to work on building something with larger rings, that had the same impact and stimulation as what I’m usually looking for with smaller ring gauges.”

As for the blend, it uses an Ecuadorian Habana 2000 wrapper, Honduran corojo binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Mexico.

Room101 El Mas Chingon will be offered in boxes of 10 with pricing between $65-80. The cigars are made at Oettinger Davidoff AG’s Agroindustria LAEPE S.A. factory in Danlí, Honduras. Room101 cigars are distributed by Davidoff of Geneva USA.

Room101 cigars are distributed by Davidoff of Geneva USA.

darn i love room 101 but not a fan of the larger ring guage

Warped just released an extension of La Colemna as a Smallbatch exclusive. Running about $16 a stick before coupon codes. That's a bit out of my league at the moment but they're out there for those that are interested.

I absolutely love the La Colmena Amado, but they are at the top of what I am willing to spend on the cigar at about $12. I with you that I won't be buying and of these at $16 per and have to buy 10. Even with discount they are $15, which I don't question their value, just my finances to afford them.

If anyone wants to make me jealous and drool, give these new Warped a try.

Supposed to be this month but its not an annual release. Last release was in 2012 and I think the first one was in 2010. SmokeInn will probably do preorders.
