Hi to everyone on the pipe side! I've been a cigar smoker regularly for I think close to a year now and have been intrigued by pipes lately.
I have absolutely zero knowledge about pipes and pipe tobaccos so please go easy on me as I soak in all of your knowledge :)
I'll be putting my name in the hat on the new piper trade and hope to be able to contribute to this side of the community very soon.

Welcome to the pipe side! You're at the right place to learn, that's for sure!
I too do both cigars and pipes, for me it's just whatever mood I'm in.

Welcome to the pipe side. I actually just started in it and think I almost enjoy a bowl full more than a cigar... And I enjoy cigars

Pipe smoking is a corrupting bidnis and there are three maladies that you must come to know: PAD (Pipe Acquisition Disorder), TAD (Tobacco Acquisition Disorder), and Cellaring (aka hoarding).
PAD is when you have an overwhelming compulsion to buy pipes that you really don't need, and TAD is when you go on a buying spree and buy a metric butt ton of pipe tobacco at once. If you're lucky, you can come to terms with TAD and call it cellaring, since many pipe tobaccos age sorta like wine and just get better with time.
Considering how pipe tobacco prices increase, and blenders go out of business (cue in the names Dunhill and McClelland, followed by wailing, gnashing of teeth, and rending of garments) and how the nannies want to ultimately ban all manner of tobacco, cellaring - or at least building a stockpile of your favorite blends - isn't such a bad idea.
Save yourself from the madness...
