Hey all, so along with my pipe order I also ordered a variety of 1-2 oz random tobacco's to try, I have these coming with this order:
Carter Hall: Carter Hall
Missouri Meerschaum: Missouri Pride
McClelland: 620 Mocha Black
Peter Stokkebye: French Vanilla
Cornell & Diehl: Black Gold Maple
Cornell & Diehl: Chocolate Cavendish
I'm looking at placing another order sometime before the end of the month and looking for suggestions that every noob should try.
Thinking Some Prince Albert and Try one of the Captain Blacks (suggestions on best?). Thanks

Definitely try the Prince Albert. It's good stuff.
Also, Lane 1Q is very popular and for good reason. It is a mild aromatic that is awesome. Lane Limited makes Captain Black. Many think the 1Q is a higher quality version. I couldn't say, as I've never had CB. I have a sample but haven't gotten around to it yet. (Hmmmmm. I guess I should smoke them back to back to compare)
Also, let us know how you like that Mocha Black. I saw it the other day and was wondering about it.

Carter Hall is a great newbie smoke...Never bites. Captain Black White is a good smoke. Smoke slow or it will bite. Prince Albert is great also.

Where do you plan on ordering from? 4Noggins has some very good house blends, and they deliver to Canada. Three Blind Moose is pretty good for an aro. Since you're Canadian, I must assume you enjoy the name ;). If you're looking for something other than an aro, I enjoy their Britt's Balkan, Bald Headed Teacher, and John Patton Storm Front.
Any where you order from, I would recommend the following:
Sam Gawith Full Virginia Flake - Straight Virginia
Macbaren HH Old Dark Fired - VA and Kentucky Fire Cured
Prince Albert - Burley/Cavendish (According to TobaccoReviews, I don't really notice the Cavendish)
Those are most of my staples. I haven't settled on a latakia blend that I would say is my absolute favorite. There are a few I enjoy, but none have become a go to blend for me.

What the other posters said above...
Plus I would add, your palate will change, refine, etc. over time, so my advice is to buy small amounts, like an ounce or two, of various things till you find your taste. Then start buying by the hogshead :)

All coming in my first order are 1-2 oz so I'm not buying a ton of something don't like.
First order was from smokingpipes but I'm thinking I'll try 4noggins for my next. Three Blind Moose is definitely top on my list to try, wish my igloo withstood our january thaw, would have been a good fit for a bowl of Three Blind Moose.

I think you will find 4noggins has some of the best service around! They ship lightning quick as well. Highly recommend them!
I noticed a lot of your order was aromatic, and that is just great for a noobie, but you may find them lacking as compared to your cigars.
As tmoran (glad to see ya brother) stated, FVF is a great full virginia and I highly suggest you get some. Orlik Golden Slices is another fantastic intro into full Virginia's...it also comes a lot drier so it requires less work and prep than the FVF.
I would also like to see you pick up some English/Balkan goodies so you can get acquainted with latakia! A lot of new pipers find that Samuel Gawiths Squadron Leader is a great beginner English, as is Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those...of course if you enjoy bold, full flavored cigars I say skip the whimpy stuff and go straight for some Dunhill Nightcap, C&D Star Of The East, and GLP Abingdon :D
