How did you miss it ? It was one of the weekend deals where you get the e-mail and then 2 more reminders. I've seen them on sale all over but not quite that low. That keg is really alot bigger than you think it would be - will pose a bit of a storage problem for the long term.

Went to look at the B&M's house brand and left with this.

The Quorums were cheaper than the house blend, allegedly long filler, and I was looking for something I could smoke right away and/or use to take up room in the humidor.

The Casa Turrent is to try again because I smoked the last one too fast in the middle, but really like the beginning and end. The Henry Clay just sounded like something new and interesting to me (which they pretty much all are anyway!)

If I now think they suck, they'll work to stabilize the RH in the humidor, or to give to visitors. They were so cheap by Canadian price standards, that it doesn't matter.

Only drawback from where I stand is that the wrapper leaves a bitter taste on your lips... but that may just be the norm with a CT wrapped cigar, I don't know. Plus it seems the CT goes on sale quite a bit and you can pick up a 5 or 10 pack for a song... always a plus in my book

I had one a few weeks ago and wasn't too crazy about it. Got it from a b&m. Maybe it needed some more rest and to dry out a little and then it may be a better smoke IMO.

Yes, I have smoked them before; got a bunch of them in a trade with Aguineapig a few months back. I really enjoyed the ones that I smoked. They are medium in body with no bitterness or off-flavors. They are a good value for the money. Of course, your tastes may be different. I like the ones with the Connecticut wrappers better than the Maduros; they seem a little richer and smoother.

I was in the local yesterday. Hadn't stopped in there for a couple of months. They had Opus in to, likely for Fathers Day. They got Petit Lances, #4's and Fuente Fuente. Since I hadn't really bought any cigars all year, I bought the box of Petit Lances. I don't see that size very often so I tucked them away. They price their Opus very cheap compared to everywhere else.
Fuente had their spring shipment of Fuente cigars stolen a few months back. A 40' cargo container full of Fuente. I would guess they will be in shorter supply until they can roll more. The box I bought had a 2012 date code so it appears they re shipped some aged stuff for Fathers Day.

They released them last year to get ahead of the FDA regulations. The original release was a long time ago as a promo when, if I remember correctly, Jon Huber of crowned heads worked for CAO. I have yet to try the one I bought last year.

I could also be wrong about who was involved originally. I'm going off memory from the research I did last year.

My golf buddy swiped the one you sent me outta my travel humi and then proceeded to tell me it was really good ! Time to start stocking it with Gurkhas....

Thats what the place I got it from had in the ad they put out when they got them in. Originally they were event only type cigars when they were released. I don't buy that CAO had that much extra stock laying around for 6+ years from something that was never widely released. My guess was to keep that blend around they had to release them for sale. A bunch of companies did that last year. Some to major retailers and some to specific shops or regions.

The shop I picked it up at normally stocks a ton of CAO, but this was only a single box and no more since then.

Glad to hear it's good. I'll have to try mine soon.

Ahhhhhhhh, the new edition of the Vegas Cubanas. Judging by the photo the wrapper seems to be just a little bit darker than worn by the cigar way back when.
The big question, for me has to be, are they going to smoke as well as the original. Not an easy task to recapture the quality of a cigar that's been gone for a number of years. But, and this is the reason I think this iteration of the Vegas cubanas might do just that is down to Pepin Garcias ability.
Will be initerested in seeing opinions of the"New" Vegas Cubanas.

A box of Don Francisco Maduro robustos and they are delicious. It's been a few years since I've had one but remember them to be a favorite and can't believe I haven't ordered more of them over the years. Since these were out of production for some time it would, I think, make more sense to regard the "new' ones as another addition to the My Father lines.

The Undercrown you sent I loved and had to have more, and as for the Brick House and Tatuaje Tattoo I had a feeling I was really going to like them and decided to mark them off the list and grab some more just in case. The AJF New World I have been wanting to try for a while now also.

I've ordered from them a few times before and never had a problem. Usually picked up the AF Sungrown Double Chateau's. They'd occasionally toss in a hitchhiker. They sent me some Sosa Vintage cigars and I was impressed.....

Just ordered a 5 pack of Warped Maestro Del Tiempos from Small Batch. Gotta see if they're box worthy, they sure sound good.

Stopped at a smoke shop on the local reservation that had a walk in humidor. Picked up a box of Chillin Moose robustos and two CAO Pilon corona singles for $58 total. The box was only $5 more than just about everywhere online. I'll take it. Love them at the price point they sell for.
