As the title says, what size RG do you prefer?
I prefer somewhere between 36 to around 48. I will smoke some larger (and smaller) stuff but I usually gravitate to those in this size range.
52 is the largest ring gauge I would prefer. I like anything from 40-52, actually. I just don't understand the jawbreaker cigars. Just look plain ridiculous.

I voted 36-48.
I just hate huge RG cigars.

Voted 46-58 as I sit puffing on a MUWAT 660. I really like 50 best I guess.

I'm still pretty new to this so just going on my limited experience I seem to like around 48-52 but have more low 40's sizes in stock

I sort of split two categories. I'd say 40-50, but I enjoy a good panatela and the occasional larger RG stick as well. For me, the larger the RG, the shorter the stick. I just can't do a 54 or 56rg that is any longer than a robusto.

Voted... Prefer coronas, but I do love a fat robusto, too

Yeah, kind of difficult to choose the poll options since pretty much no one will fall completely into one category. Just more or less what you seem to gravitate toward. I have sticks that are 26RG (Cohiba Panatelas) and some that are up around 60 or so. I do tend to gravitate toward the smaller ones though. I just can't understand the "jawbreaker" fad.

I'm solidly in the 52 to 56 rg size But since joining this forum I've come to appreciate the 40s for ring gauge sizes. Haven't ventured into anything less than 44 rg I think.

Most of my cigars are in the 36-48 range, out of those, most are in the smaller end.

In my 20's I know the large cigars or jawbreakers were just a "look at me" thing. In my early 30's I was gifted a PUNCH Ninfa and at that point I finally started to appreciate thinner cigars.

The Ninfas were sure something special. I know a few people who still have some and it is a real treat when they share.

50 to 54 is as big as I go. Usually tend to go smaller.

38-52. I love lanceros but there aren't enough options. As a result I need to go bigger sometimes.

I prefer 48-52. 54 and up is too big unless it's a box pressed or torpedo. Below 48 is OK, but reminds me of my cigarette smoking days.

The poll choices seen to leave some wriggle room for those whose favourites fall on or stradle one of the divsions. Tho any other choices would likely mean narrower ranges or include so wide a range as to be meaningless.Looking back to when I started smoking the Coriona was a big cigar. The churchill seemed akin to a telephone pole. Present day huge ring gauges more like the oversized cigar the clown in a circus act might be carrying.Still smoke cigars in the 42 to 46 RG more often than anything above 50 rg. I have more of the larger sizes in the humidor most of the time, the smaller sizes are fired up more often. But back in,late 1940's and 1950's,I recall Panatellas and Perfectos were quite popular.

52-54 is about as big as I generally go for.
I like them around 46-50 the best.
I'm up for trying a larger one at times too though.

36-48. My favorite sizes are corona, corona gorda, lonsdale, and lancero.

40 (p.c. corona or the occasional lancero) to 48 is grand! Tough to beat 46 though :apple:

I prefer 40-50 actually but that was not an option so i had to vote 36-48

5x50 robusto is usually my go to with some +/- on RG and length. Starting to appreciate the petite coronas lately for convenience and time to smoke. But they are a small percentage of my stock right now.

42 - 52 seems to be my preferred overall range. Any smaller and I start to feel like a cigarette and any larger it feels too big. 46-50 being my personal sweet spot.

44-54 is basically everything I have. I can't really dig the 60+.
I voted 36-48. Aside from robustos and toros pretty much everything I smoke falls in this range. Wont smoke stuff bigger than 52RG with a few exceptions like BHK 54s and FFPs.

I voted 46-58 because that's what I smoke most often. I think for most blends about a 48 is the sweet spot. But with that being said, one of my everyday "go to" smokes is a 4.5" X 60 Cuba Libre "The Brute". And I do love a good Lancero on occasion.

I bet it would be really interesting to associate people's ages along with this. Reason being, I've noticed over the years that older guys seem to prefer smaller RG and smaller overall cigars in general. Conversely, it would seem that the younger crowd, those who began smoking around the time when we began seeing the 55+ being introduced, gravitate more toward the bigger stuff.
I'll smoke about anything <58 if it's good, but if it's over 52, it's gotta be REAL good. You could have locked me into a 32-52 category, but I voted the same as you, given the choices.

For the poll selections..46 to 58 is a huge range. There is a massive difference between a 46 and a 58. I would have selections by 4 ring gauges at a time. A 58 gauge is almost one inch (60 is one inch).

Henry, I would have liked to narrow it down more but there are only so many poll options. I tried to do it where most smokers could fit in. As I said, I know most everyone will sometimes go out of their "comfort zone" if you will but this is just what size people prefer in general.
EDIT: 60 RG is not quite an inch. An inch would be 64

I went with 36-48, though I actually like up to about 50. I've been enjoying the Petit Corona size lately in CC's.

I voted 46-58, primarily because smaller rg sticks are a bit of a rarity at B&Ms around here. When I get packs online they seem to fall in that range as well.
Realistically It comes down to each blend and vitola. I'm likely to try something, normally in a robusto or toro size, and experiment from there.

Robusto most of the time but trending toward smaller ring gauges.
I have found that if a marca offers a corona gorda size cigar, it defiantly worth trying.....I see them as the perfect size for many blends

Very interesting.
I am very new to the hobby but I fall in the 46-58 rg range most of the time. With that being said, I'm mostly a 48-52 rg fan, but, while I'm still exploring I will try most any rg just to get a feel for them all.

More than 52 has to be something really good for me to smoke. Love the 38s but if I'm trying a need brand I usually start with the robo size.

This is kind of my reason too, but more because of price. The larger RG are usually significantly cheaper. I'm a smaller guy with a thin build and think I look ridiculous when I have a larger cigar in my mouth. In fact my go-to is a 54 gauge and it annoys me sometimes, but with some smaller gauges I kind of feel cheated. I only smoke once a week, so I really enjoy taking 2 hours to smoke a good robusto. I burn through coronas too quickly. Maybe lanceros are the answer.

46-58 is where I would normally fall but sometimes I do go for the 60+ If it is a brand new cigar to me I tend to grab a toro or robusto to give it a go.

I'm the same way, 48-52. I'll do larger with box press because they don't feel as big, like a La Antiguedad super toro (7x56).

I voted 46 to 58 but I mostly enjoy 46 to 52, I have trouble with burn on the fatter vitolas and I like to believe the taste is better with the wrapper to filler ratio on the the medium gauge cigars.
