View Full Version : What's Your Favorite Cheap Cigar?

I spend 99% of my time on the pipe side of this forum and the same goes for my smoking habits. My 150 count humi is loaded mostly with cheap sticks and a couple handfuls of nice ones I keep at the top. I know these topics come up all the time but I have to ask this one time since I'm due for another box purchase to take up some space in my humidor. My last buy was a 2fer deal at CI on the 1876 torpedo Connecticuts, I got those almost 3 years ago and right now they are decent mild cigars for a buck a piece.

what's your favorite box of sticks for filling your humi? I'd like to keep suggestions below the $5/stick mark. Something with a good satisfying flavor around the med/ med-full range. Budget sticks are the game so any deals are welcome! Let's here em, and thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be Joya Red, DE Undercrown, or Tatuaje Tattoo. All can be had under the $5/per stick mark on CBid and elsewhere.

MOW Ruinations are one of my all time favorites at any price. The last box I bought on CBid I paid $2.60 a stick including shipping.

+1 Always have a large stash of these around and they never disappoint. and Cbid always seems to have them on freefall

illusione rothschildes get my vote.
Most Arturo Fuentes are good.
Diesel and MOW are also pretty good for cheaper.

There are actually a lot of good options under $5 and there have been some good suggestions.

I would say my favorite cheap stick is a Pinar Del Rio Oscuro. It is very sweet and creamy and just fits my tastes wonderfully. You can usually find them on C-Bid for around the $2-$3 a stick mark.

Diesel UHC for sure. CAO makes some good blends fairly cheap. I'd suggest a CAO Dream Team sampler or 2 from CI. $30 for 2 each of 5 blends, Brazilia and VR being my favorites, and Italia closely behind. CHEAP sticks? Casa De Garcia. Bundles of 20 less than $30, with CT, Maduro, Sumatra, and Nicaraguan options!

I would say Diesel and thousands Padrons. I keep an eye out for deals though and usually can find great deals.

I second the Gran Habano vintage 2002. Last bundle I bought was $42/20 shipped. Very nice smoke if they have a little age on them.
Tattoos are a great cheap(er) smoke
Both Sancho Panzas that I recieved in a trade were pretty good too

Most of my cigars are cheap compared to many of the high rollers here, but the LGC N is probably my go to.

CAO Mx2, 1844, and I picked up a box of Obsidian Robustos for $50 based on Emperor Zurg 's ravings, but I haven't fired one up yet.

Man a $5 cutoff can get you a lot! That price point is there I hang out most of the time. Some I enjoy have been mentioned earlier. Most are maduros but a couple of others are sprinkled in. Here would be my list:

Alec Bradley Maxx
CAO America
CAO Mx2
601 Blue
Drew Estate Nica Rustica
Alec Bradley Star Insignia
L'Atelier Maduro
La Duena
Nub Maduro
Man O'War Phalanx
Rocky Patel Freedom
Tatuaje Havana VI
Tatuaje La Casita Criolla

Dang my mouth is watering now. I need a cigar bad!

I'm a big fan of the Ave Maria (Knight's Templar is my go to vitola). It's a mild/medium AJ/CI stick, and can be had for $3 each on cbid. It's more of a morning coffee smoke for me. It's currently the only cheap NC cigar I buy by the box.
