No fluff just the stuff

Wrapper - Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder - Honduran
Filler - Honduran
Vitola - 6 x 52 Toro
Smoke Time - 1 hour 35 mins
Pairing - Water
Price - $9

Pre Light - Barnyard, leather

Cold Draw - Hay, sweet spice, oak

Appearance - I normally don't mention packaging but this cigar really stands out. Instead of cellophane the cigar is wrapped in a tobacco leaf. Dark brown wrapper, very oily, noticeable veins,

Light - Pepper, cream, cedar, oak

1st Third - Black pepper is up front but nicely balanced with creamy mocha, a cedar-like bite, and oaky earthiness. I also pick up subtle floral lemon notes in the finish which are quite interesting and unexpected. Retrohale is earthy and woody with the same citrus note. Just over medium in body, medium full strength.

2nd Third - The pepper and mocha tone down and the lemon note becomes even more prominent. Slightly tannic with a dry mouthfeel. Retrohale is pepper and oak with light citrus notes. Medium-full body and medium strength.

Final Third - The profile goes right back to how it was in the first third bringing the strength up a notch with it. Very nice transition. Retrohale is creamy mocha, pepper, earthy, and light citrus twang.

Construction - Easy draw, huge smoke production and resting smoke, wavy burn, flakey ash.

Overall - Its not often I taste citrus in a cigar but this stick definitely has it. For that alone I really recommend trying one of these its quite unique. The profile is otherwise well balanced with a long finish and nice flavor transitions.

Thanks Bill. I'd be interested to see if you pick up the lemon note too.
