So I bought one of these last year just to hit free shipping on an order and totally forgot about I had it. I used to like CAO in the early days of smoking but don't really care for them much anymore. Well, I am in the process of smoking this one and damn it is really good. Anyone else try these? I want more and I can't found them for sale online anywhere!

I have one I was gifted at an event last month. Heard they're pretty good, but they're definitely harder to come by now. They claim one of the leaves (wrapper?) is grown so deep in the Amazon that they have to transport it up the river by boat to get it to civilization. And supposedly they only harvest it every three years or so. CAO's master blender Rick Rodriguez told me the band is made from tightly rolled leaf scrap, and while it could technically be smoked, he recommended removing it.

I've been kicking myself for not buying these when they were available. Now they are either out of stock or selling online for stupid high prices. I'm hoping they'll release it again sometime soon.

yeah I am kicking myself now for not buying more when they were available last year. I took of the "band" because I figured it was not meant to be smoked. I read that they need a few months of rest...and mine had about 4 months on it. Definitely a great smoke that unfortunately I may not get the chance to smoke again :(

I was in your city for the first time in January and found a cool new B&M in the French Quarter called Smoke on the Water. Have you been there? I really enjoyed it and went there 3 times during my stay. Great selection of sticks - many I can't find in this area.

Also, I got taken on that stupid "bet I can tell you where you got your shoes" bit when I was smoking a cigar and drinking a coffee outside Cafe du Monde

Hope you didn't pay the guy. That has to be the dumbest street scam, and they get pissed if you don't take it as a serious bet. Most of those "hustlers" are harmless, but they know most tourists and visitors don't want any trouble with street people. I had a guy walk next to me for a block, trying a few of those on me, and when I jumped on his punchlines, he tried to get me to pay him royalties for taking his material. I told him I'd give him a dollar for making me laugh. He acted all insulted, like he wouldn't take it. Of course he took it, though. I legitimately love NOLA, one of my absolute favorite cities in the US to visit.

You know, I ended up being out $7 to get him to go away. At first he wanted $20 "$10 for the line, $10 for the shine" was what he said. I forgot that he squirted some sort of weird lotion on my shoes and started shining them. And I was wearing tennis shoes. I meant to pull out a dollar from my wallet and accidently pulled out a $5. Once that happened he wasn't leaving until he got the fiver and then some.

I loved my time in NOLA too. Was there for a work conference and then stayed for 1.5 more days. Would love to go back and this time take my wife! Now I'm smarter on this line thing. There should be some sort of public announcement when you get off the plane at the NOLA about this!

Basically tourists are approached by someone on the street and coerced into taking a bet that goes along the lines of "bet I can tell you where you got your shoes", most people don't think much of it and think it's funny or that there is no way that the person could guess so they agree. The scammer proceeds to say, "well you got them on your feet on the street in new orleans" which technically isn't wrong. The tourist is then asked (sometimes not so politely) for the money.

Technically it is wrong though. Got is the past tense of get, so where you got your shoes is past tense, not present. Give a little grammar lesson to these chumps and demand the money from them.

The B&M I stopped at yesterday (the one closest to me) didn't have any left. I may be able to get to the other reasonably priced one this weekend but I'm not sure since I'm going to be pretty busy. I'll update later if I can...

Just called my B&M, they have them and they are running 13.25 a piece, I'm not sure what is typical for them but if anyone wants some let me know.

I found some at a local store for 8.50 each, tax here is 7%. They have 12 currently so if you want some shoot me a message and I can come back over the weekend and pick them up. I can shoot you a picture with my phone to confirm the purchase but I would expect PP ahead of purchase as I don't need a bunch of these.

Ha! I'm of the wait and see mentality with pro-football, more of a college fan TBH, I have a hard time paying attention to pro until closer to playoffs. Granted I still hope we crush you falcons!!! GO SAINTS
