With St. Patrick's Day just 2 short days away I'd like to know what Candela wrapped cigars are solid choices to light up. The only actual true Candela I've smoked was a Baccarat and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I've had the Asylum 13 Ogre and Corona 10th Anniversary which both use Candela in part of a dual or triple wrapper of the cigar.

I've got a Rocky Patel Edge Candela and a RoMa Craft Candela (can't remember the name - it was gifted to me by Monkey in my MAW) - I haven't smoked either and I'm anxious to try them.

Has anyone tried an Alec Bradley Filthy Hooligan? I've been really wanting to try one these last 3 years and haven't. I like the regular Black Market and thought this would be an interesting extension of it.

So....anyone have recommendations?

Thanks for the heads up David! That huskers really thinks ahead. Thinking about a cigar almost a month in advance - what an over achiever!

I have a couple of Illusione 88 Candela sticks in my humi. I've only tried one so far and was quite surprised as I was expecting a lighter smoke but it packed a good punch. Its looks fooled me... I look forward to the next one!

I've only had one - the Fuente Curly Head claro. Stay away!

Agree, this was my first candela which I tossed about half way in.

That probably had more to do with it being a Curly Head than the wrapper. Those things taste vile in any wrapper. Some claim they get better after a year or two but I'm not patient enough to find out.

I just smoked a Holy Lance candella by Illusione. I did not like the Filthy Hooligan. I had an ogre as well. I say if you are looking for a candella any by Illusione is what I would go with.

Candella wrappers are just not the best tasting wrappers out there're IMO. You can't go wrong with Illusiones if you have the itch to though.

I've had the Illusione Holy Lance candela, Asylum Ogre, Rocky Patel Edge Candela, and the CroMagnon Fomorian (the RoMa Craft cigar you mentioned). The Fomorian is my favorite candela, you have the grass/hay flavors but it has some body to it that keeps it interesting. The RP Edge Candela is also really good IMO, I smoked a lot of those before I found the Fomorian.
