Anyone have any opinions on local brand smokes? The b&m here has their house smokes for under 4 bucks, I'm thinking I may try one.

Most of the B&Ms around here have their own house brand. They're not great but they're not bad either. I usually grab a bundle to have for yard work, being out fishing or canoeing.

I will have to let you know. My last visit to my B&M resulted in a free store branded stick. I have yet to try it but may give it a shot this week.

Honestly with so many variables as to where it was rolled and what is in it the cigar is a complete unknown. Give yours a shot. At worst you are out 4 bucks and learned an important lesson. At best you found a yard gar that supports your local shop. Thats pretty much win-win for the cost of a coffee out at most places.

My store has some unbanded sticks but I don't know if they're the store brand or not. There are several different vitolas and they come in natural or maduro. At only $3 a stick or so I don't know why I've not tried them yet. Well, it's probably because a Brick House, Don Tomas and CAO La Traviata are only a buck or two more and I know I like those. But I still should try the others too.

I am fortunate in that the "house brand" for my B&M is Illusione...:stogie:

I have a local B&M that I purchased what I thought was an unbanded house brand in a 5x50 size vitola. It was a decent smoke that was fairly mild, but had some complexity to it. I went back to grab a couple more a few weeks later and ask them about them. He claimed they were Ashton seconds/rejects. Don't know if they were, but at $4 a pop, it's not a bad smoke....

Nearby, Holts has Fuente as the house-brand, but I haven't tried any locally. I have picked up a few at a place I was recommended, but they were also pretty wet, so going to wait a minute to burn it
